This is going to be a great fun event organised by Second Chance Kennels in Fife and GAL will be there! GAL greyhounds will be taking part in 'Meet the Breed'!
Hi Folks, bit more info on 'Bark in the Park'. The event starts at 10am and will be held at Lochore Meadows in Lochgelly. The arrow (even though it's pointing into a big loch) marks the spot on this map!
The GAL Info stall will be in attendance along with the GAL shop (the shop is still to be confirmed but Second Chance Kennels are very nice people so I'm sure we'll get it along!)
It sounds like a great day out with the attractions including Fly Ball, Heel Work to Music, a Sled Dog team, Field Trials, Agility, Carting and loads loads more! There's also a dog show as part of the day, classes include Waggiest Tail, Happiest Dog, Best 6 legs and many many more.
We hope to see as many GAL supporters and dogs there as possible.
Now the usual plea for volunteers! GAL have agreed to take part in 'Meet the Breed' so I'm looking for 3 or 4 dogs and owners to confirm attendance and help us out with this one. If you have a nice steady dog who doesn't mind being ooh'ed and aaah'ed over all day, being fed little treats from passing kids and getting oodles of cuddles all day then we need you help!! Please drop me an email at david@gal.org.uk if you can help,I'm figuring if we can get 3 or 4 dogs then we can split the ''hard work'' so you are free to attend some of the activities on the day!..
Hi Folks, still looking for a couple of volunteers to help out at this event (which is this Sunday!)
If you can help please contact me david@gal.org.uk I just REALLY need a couple of folks to come along with their dogs and 'look pretty' at the GAL info stall all day!
great piccies Jennifer, the 4th one down contains my boot - thanks for not getting any more of me!!
Big thanks to Jennifer with Millie, Toby & Eva and Andrew and Debbie with Tilly & Drummer for coming along and helping out, Millie was a star and got lots of hugs with that jacket on!
It was a bit of an odd day, was funny to be at a doggie event with not really any skinny dogs there, the barking was terrible! think I'll defo be sticking with the hounds! We raised £104 today and gave out a few leaflets so worth the trip into darkest Fife for that, i was particularly pleased that lots of folks were aware of the recent events down south on the 'killing fields' so I guess the message is getting across to people...
Great pictures, Jennifer! Drummer is very proud to have his photo posted on the internet at the ripe old age of twelve, whereas Tilly's a bit of an old hand now!
Both dogs seemed to enjoy themselves, and all the attention, and have slept pretty much constantly since we got home. Sorry we had to leave early, but Tilly was at melting point - the perils of having a black (and white-flecked) coat!
Looking forward to seeing you all at the GALA day in 2 weeks time.
P.S. Well done, Jennifer, for persuading so many people to part with notes rather than just coins! (Mental note: never admit to having "no change" when approached by someone with a collecting tin!).
Andrew & Debbie (Tilly zzzzzzzzzz and Drummer zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz).
