Just back from the vets where Sasha was getting her booster today and the vet showed me the new dental chews she has just got in. They are called Ostrich Twister Chews and yes you ,ve guessed the are made from the sinew from the ostrich leg. They are splinter free, less messy and have a flossing effect on the teeth, made by Genusxpress and cost £2 each the vet swears by them, so guess what, I bought two and gave them to Cas and Sasha who loved them. Yeuch!!!  Poor ostriches. My rats love the Greenies chews, I think they are minty and are shaped like a toothbrush, they are made form "crude" ingredients - the mind boggles!

They sound revolting so the dogs are guaranteed to love them!    I haven't seen them as yet but may well ask the vet if they've heard of them next time I'm in (to pay Tigger's call out bill).  This might be an option as Millie does not enjoy getting her teeth brushed and does not like any of the other dental chews I've come across.

That's interesting - thanks for posting that.  I wonder if they would suit Harley - i've been searching for an alternative to Rawhide chews for his teeth as we have discovered he is allergic to beef and lamb.  Think I will give them a go.

I bought a parma ham bone yesterdaybut had to remove it from him as he was crunching up the bone and it looked quite sharp on the edges.

I found a link to a website that sells them:

They do sound pretty awful but if it helps clean Neo's teeth i'll try anything once.

Mmmm said Vernon at the thougt of a new chew.
Sound interesting. I'm guessing they are a byproduct of the ostrich farming that is so popular these days.

I'll need to give them a go. My two won't entertain raw hide chews or dental chews, as a result Angus' teeth are minging (as is his breath!)

I think I'll give them a go too.  Dave and Daisy won't let me scrape and/or clean their teeth so this might be the answer.
