Piper is soon due to have her annual vaccinations, but has not yet been to my usual vets for anything at all. I've learnt from this forum how much greyhound physiology differs from other dogs, and will ask my vet if she is familiar with greys for the future (if not, I can ask at the kennels if their vet will treat pet greys).
Is there anything else I need to know? Are there any special issues with greys and vax?
Well, as so often I worried for nothing - the vet who saw us knew lots about greyhounds. Apparently they are used a lot for training purposes at veterinary colleges because their leanness makes it easy to palpate them correctly, and because they are so very laid back. He seemed rather fond of greys, and Piper was brilliantly calm and in no hurry to leave!
