Monthly Dog Walk - EDINBURGH - 24 September 2006
Permalink Closed

Something most greyhound and lurcher owners enjoy and have in common is walking dogs and talking dogs well! what better way than at a great location such as Holyrood Park this Sunday 24 September at 12 noon!

This is a fun informal activity where like minded people can get together to discuss all things four legged and exercise the pups at the same time.

WHERE? Holyrood Park in Edinburgh, meet in the St Margarets Loch Car Park (the Meadowbank end of the park!)

WHEN? Sunday 24th September @ 12 noon.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

After the weather of late - I thought i would check up what it was going to be like for Sunday and the forecast is sunny intervals (so lets just hope they get it right tafter the strong winds we have had lately).

Even though Holyrood is a lovely place for a walk in whatever weather

"We hope to be there with Pearly and Harry, all being well" said Fiona.

Well...famous last words. Pearly has an infection in her leg so is walking around on three of them just now so we'll have to give it a miss on Sunday.

Have a good one!

Poor Pearly

It's a bit of an extreme way of getting out of a walk isn't it?

Okay the bbc weather forecast during the week was rubbish.

A really BIG THANK YOU and also well done to all of you brave souls that came out on the walk today. the weather was awful.

Took some photos so I will post them later.

and all you lightweights that didn't venture out for the walk today, your hounds were still needing walked and you would have had the company of a dozen or so more hounds with soaked owners - only kidding - I completely understand

Sorry the weather was so rotten for all you doggy walkers today

Fiona, sorry to hear about Pearly's leg.  Think we will have to have a special meeting for those of us with doggies with sore legs!

Right - no funny today.  Two greyhounds who ended up looking like drowed rats and me, well I had the indignity of looking like Alice Cooper by the time I got back to the car.  Must remember the WATERPROOF mascara next time.

Still, nice company and the dogs needed walked anyway - would have been the same rain in Livingston.

OH I FORGOT TO ADD THIS ONE (sorry Nicki - but it does sum up the day - wet and kind of smiling through it)

I had added the speech balloon, but couldn't decide on what to write in it - so if anyone can think of a good caption then please tell.

I think she's saying: "It's raining, my hair's all soaking, I'm cold and wet, Janie's in a huff with me for making her go out in this, and to add insult to injury I've trodden in some non-greyhound poop!"

BTW, who is the little fawn and white poppet in the 5th piccie down? So cute!

I think Nicki's saying, "Roll up, Roll up, see the world's first ever dissolving greyhound"!!

The wee fawn and white one is my gorgeous Sophie (before sporting the "drookit" look).

Rhona, she's absolutely lovely. Thinking about it, I'm pretty sure that I've admired her in piccies on here before. You'll be thinking I'm obsessed!!

I feel utterly shamed now. I planned to bring Mason along and decided it was just too wet, we opted for soakings down at Leith Links instead - closer to home and warm towels.
Now i've seen the photos of braver souls I promise I'll toughen up for the next one!

Well done to everyone who braved tha horrible weather for the walk, the photos still look great. Nice to see Zak out and about.

Nicki is saying " I think I must have most of Saint Margarets Loch in my wellies, or some dogs ****ed its leg" LOL Nora

I think that she is saying “I can’t believe that it was so wet that it even got inside my wellies”. I was certainly saying something similar myself at the same time.

Our feeling was that it was the same rain if we walked at Holyrood or closer to home. It was good to get Zak out and in amongst other dogs.

Nicki is saying ''Siouxsie if you post this picture on the forum I'm going to call Pentland Precision Engineering and get them to make a sharp pointy stick, I know where you live''
