Has anyone been on this lately? A couple of years ago photos were few and far between. It's completely changed and very interesting to see so many photos. It's worth having a wee peek as I've copied over 70 photos of Lenny's family. Nice to see what the parents etc looked like I think. Lenny's just like his dad. Exact same markings, just different colour. His sire was Frightful Flash.
It's a great site, I agree! I was just looking at the photo's of Wilma's ancestors. (She was Border Princess, if you're interested!!) - they all seem to be white, black & white, or even brindle! I love to know how come she managed to end up mainly all white, will a number of black spots!!!!!
Be warned, though, it's addictive going through the dogs!!!!

Oh wow, we're all one big happy family!! FF was on Rosie's mum side too. And her great granmother was called Leggy Waitress!! Neo's got a lot of doggy ancestors with the name Droopys and Rosie does too!! Ooh, they must be somehow related if they both have the same grandad??
The Greyhound Data website is SO addictive, if you haven't looked for a while it's defo worth a return visit, as Esther says there's been a lot of updates recently with lots of new dogs, races and pictures added - I started updating it ages ago with all the GAL dogs we've rehomed, managed to mark over 350 so far as 'homed by GAL' - if you've got a GAL dog that isn't flagged as such let me know and I can do it! good bit of PR for the charity!
p.s. Neo and Rosie also share another comon ancestor - Greenpark Fox - Neo's Granddad, Rosie's Great-Great-Grandad!
Its really interesting finding out about any kind of family tree, human or dog! Ive managed to trace Rosie's family right back to 1786 (Claret also know as Claret Townsend)then its mainly unknown dogs and the few with name just have the date 182x etc
Oooh, oooh - excitement!!! I've just found out that Pearly's daddy (Tom's the Best) and Jacky's daddy (Goals Galore) were litter mates! I knew that Jacky was Pearly's closest relative but hadn't appreciated just how close.
Check out this piccie of them together, taken when we used to walk the dogs over at Fife - it's a shame that Pearly has her jacket on but check out the structure of their leggies and the shape of their heads and pointy noses. Looks to me like it's love at first sight, the way they're gazing into each other's eyes.

Rosie's dad, Droopys Vieri, is one of the top UK stud dogs(Rosie obvisously comes from a pretty good background!!), fathering over 4000 pups!! What a busy boy!!
p.s. Neo and Rosie also share another comon ancestor - Greenpark Fox - Neo's Granddad, Rosie's Great-Great-Grandad!
Hey, we're related!!! This is exciting! Greenpark Fox is Piper's Grandad too, via Trade Official, which makes her Neo's cousin, sort of. Piper's 'real' name is Windgap Maryland.
I said it before somewhere and I still think it's true - we are all just one BIG happy family!
Tigger's got Frightful Flash as her grand-sire and Goals Galore is daddy. Staplers Jo is in there somewhere too and I'm sure I've heard him mentioned before!
Nice to hear Lenny has some relatives out there! Not surprising as Frightful Flash has sired more dogs than any other stud dog. Can't mind the exact amount but sure it's over 200. 226 or something. That's only the registered ones!
If your dog isn't on the grey data you can e-mail Anja Von Boehn at anja@greyhound-data.com and she will pop them on it. Prob helpful if you know the parents but she may still be able to help if you don't. She can add your dog to the data along with photos. Check out Lenny (racing name Seaway Falcon) and see what she did for me. Very helpful girl who also has ex racers and lives in Germany. She's very busy so be patient folks as I can see a rush for her services coming on!!
One big happy family is most definitely true - just had a look at Wilma's page and found Greenpark Fox in her family tree too. I could only do this because Sharon put up Wilma's racing name; how about some more of the real names? Now that I know that Piper is cousin to Neo and cousin-once-or-twice-removed to Rosie, I'd love to have a look at their pedigree
If you click on the bit that says "this dog was rehomed by Greyhound Awareness League" under the photo, you can get a list of all the dogs rehomed by GAL. I'm sure I saw Rosie on there.
Blue's racing name was Drumcrow Blue his mum Drumcrow Twirl and Dad Beach Prince. I have had a breif look to see if he has any close relations. He is realated to many hounds via Sandman but I haven't found any close relations
Neo sends a big kiss to piper, his gorgeous wee cousin
Have to say that Greenpark Fox looks like a very handsome lad, must have been where my Neo got his looks from.......ok i know i'm biased but aren't we all about our babies!!
You think Droopy'd Vieri put it about!!!!? Tilly's dad Larkhill Jo fathered 5,592 puppies!!! He sadly died in December last year but I bet he died happy!!! It's always lovely to see pics and meet "relatives" of your dogs and really hard esp if they are looking for homes!!! Maverick and Eugene are Tilly's half-brothers - if only we could!!! One day definately!

I actually registered and put my own dogs on myself! It's quite easy and painless to do! As Hugahound says, though, you really need to know the parents of the dog - but again that's fairly easy to find out!

Well, so far Piper is related to every dog that's been named properly on this thread! With Lenny and Tilly the shared ancestors are a bit further back, but still... I challenge you all to find me a dog that isn't a distant cousin!
Here's the bad news though... I checked out Piper's siblings, just for fun, and found that her litter brother Whitey's Tiger aka Huey was found as a stray and is up for adoption in Yorkshire... daughters and I want to drive up there and get him, but husband quite rightly and reasonably says 'no way'.
So far i have not seen any dog closely related to Sally, so if anyone feels like checking her racing name of FOR REVIEW and finds anything i wopuld love to hear about it
Hi Gail I am sure that quite a few dogs on here are related to head honcho. Blue and Sally are related via Skelligs Tiger but not close. He was Blue's great great grand father and Sally's great grandfather.
It does make for a fasinating read although can be a bit upsetting. 1 of Blues relatives was shipped over to Austrailia to sire some pups but died on the return journey
Also 1 of Blues relatives was a champion courser and we have had comments from people when out walking that Blue would be a great courser as he has wide shoulders Must be where he got it from. It also makes me wonder what happened to all his litter mates
Ra's paternal grandpa is Frightful Flash and his father is Goals Galore - so he has lots of rellies on the forum. I am surprised and delighted to hear that Jacky and Ra are half brothers, although they couldn't be more different.
Piper also has Skelligs Tiger in her tree - 4 generations back - and therefore distantly connected to Sally, too. Ra might be the one she's not related to; at least there's no FF in her. Who's Ra's mother?
