Own garden
Permalink Closed

Just moved house (from a flat) and my dogs are delighted they have their own garden. I can tell im gonna have to read over the thread on here about how keep your grass in one piece

Millie has had a few mad turns already and its taking its toll on the grass. You can see already where she has churned it up while racing in it. I took this pic the other morning while the sun was out as she looked so content, and looked happy she had a garden at last

Fantastic Jennifer. Hope the move went well. Mille does look very happy. As for the grass maybe astro turf would solve the problem?! Hope you are still in the Edinburgh area it would be nice if we could finally meet on one of the Edinburgh walks so you could see Blue again.

Millie certainly looks very contented in her new garden! Hope the move went well. If you get any tips on how to keep your lawn looking good, be sure to let us know - Tilly is doing a superb job of ploughing ours just now!

Millie looks lovely sitting in the sun.   Wishing you lots of luck in your new house.  I was born in Edinburgh and lived in Corstorphine until I was four years old.  But I have to say that was a few years ago now!

All the best in your new home Jennifer and gang.

I know those looks - my two were exactly the same when we moved to Sandhaven and they had a secure garden all of their own.  It makes such a difference and it's lovely to see them out enjoying the sun in their own little corner of paradise.  Your crowd look very contented in their new house too.  It's great that they've taken to it so easily.

As for the grass - forget it.  Ours has divots out of it, bald patches and dug up bits.  I think it's a losing battle!

grass? what grass?

we have paved over our garden - it was churned up to a muddy mess within a week.  great for me tho cos I HATE gardening!!!  Anyway, the patch of lawn we had was the size of a postage stamp so it wasn't a great loss.

Millie looks lovely

We have a garden with two levels, lawn on one and paved below. We did allow the dogs on the grass but now we have a gate to stop them, as years of dog pee and running about totally ruined it! We can now sit up there in the sun and not worry about sitting in dog poo

Your lawn will never look as it does now ever again.  You will have a 'track' mark in no time! Lenny used to run round the garden in a figure 8 every single time he was in it. Bits of grass and dirt flying everywhere.

She looks very happy.  Doesn't she mind laminate flooring?  Lenny just won't walk on it at all.  Have to put towels down at my sisters so he can walk from the back door into the kitchen through to the livingroom.  If not he gets so scared then tried to make a mad dash which of course makes him slip.

Glad to hear that the house move went well and all three pooches are enjoying the garden.

We're another grass-wot-grass household! Just have a weeny strip for the dogs to loll on during the summer.

No she doesnt mind. I have have laminate floors since i got her, they were in my old house too. I have a rug on the livingroom floor and a carpet in the bedroom so she copes fine. Teachers her to walk instead of run LOL
