Udate on Sanna and Badger

Sanna,s cut was just above the pad esther just nicked the pad,she has 3 stitches, she,s well on the mend dying to get running again but thats her off her tippy toes till xmaS she gets her stitches out nxt tues,as for Badger he is still poorly he has trouble with the eating ,tried softening his food and tried liquidising it but he just looks at it as if to say NO THANKS...tried eating Sannas but he,s getting frustrated with it as he cant chew, gonny split them up wen dinner time comes not fair on him....he,s been having a lot of soft things.3 weetabix natural yougurt and honey he loves for brekky but dinner time is getting hard to think of things to give him, pasta chicken tinned dog food.etc...it,s quite a nasty and awkward fracture vet said he might have wacked into tree chasing the squirrel and caught his shoulder and hit the side of the face on the tree...he was going pretty fast as they do.....the very thought of it makes me cringe and ever so guilty. Was back at the vet today and they,ve gave him valium to try and sedate him during firework madness....grrrr he is so nervous with the loud noises, had the DAP diffuser going for 3 weeks but needed something bit stronger.I am so missing our long walks with them but at least we have something to look forward to and aim for with him. Many thanks for all the kind words it has been a godsend having ppl there who know what your going through so cheers to allwill keep you all posted on his recovery....MEL

Its good Sanna is on the mend but she must be frustrated she cant get off to run. Poor Badger, it must be awful for you, and him. Hopefully if he gets plenty rest it will heal quickly and just an excuse for you to pamper him and lie beside him for extra cuddles and kisses

At least the initial worst stuff is over (not knowing), and you know you just need to get on with their rest and support.  Poor Badger, as he is such a big dog, it must have been an awful whack he has given his shoulder, but there is really nothing you could have done to prevent that accident, and when he is better, he will still be telling you he wants to run about.  Best wishes to both your dogs for a speedy recovery.

A couple of soft foods that ours like are scrambled eggs, any fish and rice - remember it doesn't have to be a mix that seems tasty to humans - they'll love it anyway. Could be worth adding a little water to tinned food and mashing it up a bit for Badger.

Hope they're feeling better soon.

So glad Sanna's healing well - she'll be champing at the bit to get a good run! Poor Badger - it's a shame he's having problems eating. Vegas and Dixie both love tinned sardines, pilchards, tuna and mackerel mashed up with their dinner. They also love gravy, leftover mince and any pasta dishes I've made. Like Jan says, scrambled eggs and rice are great too!

Hope Badger gets better very soon! Big hugs to both Sanna and him!

Gosh, poor Badger. I hope he gets better very soon. Just to back up what Jan says about rice (cook it for longer than you would for yourself), fish and scrambled egg. Our two lap it up when they've been poorly.

At least Sanna is healing well.
