Not been logged onto the Forum for ages. Much busier now am working full time again. Long story!
Many of you will know that Vince (one of the Bothwell 19) came to stay with me, as a foster dog in April, after bouncing from his new home. He settled in very well so I decided he should stay put. He'd been in kennels for over 6 years.
He is doing well but has a bad habit of trying to squeeze onto the sofa between two growling hounds. Lol so a few episodes.
He was due to be neutered in October but pre op blood tests revealed a kidney problem. the operation was cancelled. He was put on medication and a lower protein diet. He is fine no obvious illness. He's pleased as he still has all his 'equipment' intact. Hopefully the kidney problem may resole itself. If not then we will review the position every few months lo Blood test £35 a time.
Good to hear from you again Charles and so pleased that Vince has found his forever home. Keep us updated on his progress and also your motley crew. Take care. Nora

I know Vince from his days in Bothwell Bridge. He is a lovely brindle boy. Charles is an absolute star for taking on this dog when he was "bounced".
Great to have you back, Charles - and with such good news that Vince has found a home with you and your crew! Hope to catch up with you soon at one of GAL's events.
What a lucky boy Vince is having a new home and one where he will get the very best of care to help sort out his wee kidney problem. We'll be thinking of you all. Hope it resolves itself soon.
hi charles glad to hear uve added vince to ur collection hes a wee cracker just unfortunate things with us didnt work out for us with him.herladyship enjoys her reign on the throne of our household too much..pity i couldnt get her bed in red velvet with gold trim suit her more <bows to her graceiousness>
anna, robert and family and licks to trie and vince from taylor
Yip after all those years racing and in kennels - Vince loves his comforts. Comfy sofa and a warm soft bed. He love his walks - you can see the joy in his face as he sniffs about. A real pleasure to watch. He barks his head off when the its feeding time. But he shows no comprehension of play, though.
He loves to have his ears rubbed and a good massage. He has no fear though - a few mins ago he squeesed onto he sofa again with Mick ( top dog) growling loudly. Vince is now sleeping with his head on Mick. He has suffered a few bite wounds as a result. Though heisin general a submissive soul.
He is due his annual injections next week and a further discussion re his kidney function. His last months blood test were better. he might be ok for a neutering op nearly next year. But will not rush into that until medically time is right if ever.
Forgot to say that Vince's Chip details have now been changed. Now registered to me> Another step - ensuring his future is secure in a com fortable home. He deserves it!
Vince has had his annual boosters - can't believe it's a year since he was first taken into care at Bothwell and had his jabs.
Hopefully he will be well enough to have an operation in January so two bad teeth can be taken out.Apparently long term tooth infections can cause heart valve problems in later life. His neutering is a lesser problem at mo but would be done at same time as his dental - he has taken to 'sprinkling my flat' aghh which is partly due I think to his ' dog status' Mind you I have heavy duty vinyl tiles now to cope with my wayward hounds - (Hound proof house)
Charles
ps its still a great delight to see him enjoying walks - the pleasure as he sniffs about, to see his ears prick up at sights, the way he barks his head off when his food is being dished out and to see him chilled out on the sofa or in the dog bed
It's great to hear that Vince is enjoying life. Don't envy you the "sprinkling" problem, it's bad enough when Wills has his accidents in the night due to his diabetes!
We'll be thinking of him come January when he gets his dental visit and neutering. Keep us posted on his progress.
