I know - another event!! It is time for me to plead the case of can collecting on Buchanan Street on December 15th! I know it is a Friday - that is the ONLY day we could have in the month of December! I was just downtown this past Friday and it was PACKED so .....
PLEASE may I have some happycheerful helper's for the can collection? I will most likely be starting at 12 noon and hope to go until 4pm or 5pm depending on number of volunteers and weather! I'll be getting some dogs so any length of time volunteered would be greatly appreciated!
Hope to see you there!!
Any questions or wish to sign up - just send me an email at linda@gal.org.uk!
I don't think I'll get the time off either. I was kinda hoping that my boss would be nice again this year and give us a half day for Christmas shopping (as he has in the past) however there has been no mention so far.
Unfortunately I can't be there either and I'm so disappointed as it's great fun, collects a lot of money and it's a good chance to chat to likely people about what GAL does! Hopefully next time there's a can collection I'll be available!
Well, it actually stopped raining today for a few hours. Just long enough to get the good folk of Glasgow interested in the two stars of the day - Jamie and Gerry! They were just wonderful. So well behaved. Gerry especially enjoyed all the attention, and is about the friendliest, most cuddlesome greyhound there is. I just love him. Please klick on the links below to see some pictures I took of the collection. Here's to the next one!
Jenny - the little girl was with her gran, who told me that the little girl's family had owned a greyhound. Unfortunately it was killed in an accident.
She was a lovely little girl and very taken with Jamie. But then I don't know who wouldn't have been!
Dave wrote: big thanks to everyone who took part, hope you didn't get TOO cold and wet, this is a great total considering the weather conditions at the time!

The weather was really quite good on Friday afternoon considering the amount of rain we had previously. However, when the rain did start Rachel decided that it was time to stop the can collection as the dogs would get wet and cold. Just lets you know who is the most important at these events doesn't it? THE DOGS!! Well done Rachel, you have your priorities right!
Sorry this is so late - been a very busy week for me. BUT I did want to thank the crew that came out last Friday to help in the can collection - Rachel, with Jamie and Jerry, Joyce, Jenny, Rene, and Helen!!! It was a fun time had by all - more I think by Jamie who snuck quite a few bites of banana bread! Well done to the group for raising £495!! Hope to see you all at the next event!
