Free Beer has just arrived this morning. She is quite timid, and her skin is a mess. She had ear mites and fleas which the vets have treated, but her skin is really sore looking, her coat is very thin and bald in a lot of places. Casper was a gentleman, as usual, and welcomed her into the house and they are both in their beds sound asleep now. Now comes the name dilemma. Aedan suggested we call her Bop-bop or cat-cat I thought she should be named after a beer but just a pretty name that suits her would be nice. I have only really thought of Stella as a beer name but its not stuck yet so suggestions please! Here are the pictures I have taken so far...

Poor thing I just want to give her a hug she looks so sad. Quite like the name Stella couldn't think of any beer names only thing I could come up with was Tia because well...it rhymes with beer lol
Looking forwards to hearing more about her. She will soon shine in yours and Casper's care.
Bl**dy hell, what a state she's in. Hopefully a few weeks of love and attention will get some hair back on those legs. She has a beautiful face. I think Stella is a very pretty name for her (though I'm very partial to Bop-Bop as well).
Well done, Jane, for taking her so quickly. And well done to Casper for being such a kindly boy and welcoming her into the gang.
Aww she looks pretty meek just now but when she realises what a lovely place she's in her personality will shine. Its a sad tale how she came to be with GAL but she's a lucky girl now.
As for names the first thing I though of was Stella before I read further on your post. Steven drinks real ales and they have names like Heather and Kelpie which would suit a doggy.
Poor thing looks so bare! I'm sure she'll find her feet soon though. I really like the name Stella, but if she turns out to be a little thing you could always call her halfpint! Marie
Its a lovely name and whatever you decide im sure she'll suit. She look s in a terrible state but as other folk have said, im sure she'll get better quickly in your care

Isnt she just a poor wee soul Well done Jane for taking her a such sort notice. The only name i can think of that sounds like Free Beer is Freebie- as in Freebie and the Bean. Or Frizbee!
Well done Jane for giving her a bed, she does look so sad and sorry for herself Can't wait to see how she looks in a few weeks, probably still a bit sore and bald but hopefully with a light shining in her eyes..
Stella was my first thought as i read your post too!!
awww, she's lovely! her skin looks like Ozzy's did when he first arrived, he had had mange & mites and his skin and coat were in a bit of a mess.you just feel so sorry for them as it must be so annoying!i had read somewhere on the forum about aloe vera and i tried it out on him. with that and the antibiotics, his skin and coat were in great condition in a relatively short period of time. good luck with your new arrival, whatever you decide to name her.
Well done on taking FreeBeer? Stella? what ever you decide to call her. She looks an absolute sweetheart and so tragic about what was going to happen to her, but at least she is safe now.
I am sure she will come on leaps and bounds in your care and with Casper as a friend. Good Luck. Nora

Aww, she looks like such a poor wee soul, thank god there are people like you out there who can step in at the last minute and save her life, she is now guaranteed a very happy future, and I'm sure she'll be looking happy and healthy in no time.
Regarding naming her, what about Singa it's a Thai beer and it also means Lion.

ROLL ON MARCH
When I read about the appeal for Free Beer and then read that a permanent foster home had been found I just knew it would be you! Well done for taking her on - she looks such a poor soul but she'll be wonderful soon under the expert eye of Casper. I bet he's really pleased to have a new pal. I like all the names suggested particularly Carly and Heather. I asked my husband for suggestions and he said Marge or Lisa It took me a while to get the link to Homer Simpson and his love of beer... Do you know, there's even a website that gives beer names for babies - who would do that?????? Anyway, they give Shandy and Corona as suggestions. Good luck on finding the perfect name and even more good luck with the beautiful girlie in your family.
I went for Jackies idea of freedom and have decided to call her LIBBY (short for Liberty). I think she suits it I hardly sleep a wink last night for listening out for her getting up, but she didn't get up once. She hasn't had any accidents in the house yet, but I'm going out to the shops and taking Aedan to yogabugs today so I will see how she gets on when left for a couple of hours. She was really tired on our walk last night, she was puffing and panting and that was us just having walked 15 minutes up the road to get my mum to start the evening walk. She did manage the rest of the walk ok, but I could see she was tired and Casper was still trotting along wanting to go further. She'll get fit soon enough though, Casper doesn't do short walks so she'll get used to it soon. I'll keep you all updated on how Libby is getting on Jane P.S. Thanks for all the name suggestions!

I agree, Libby is a lovely name, looking at her face its hard to understand how anyone could simply have her PTS. I'm looking forward to seeing photos as she continues her GAL journey. Marie
Good name - like it lots. She's such a little cutie. I just want to give her a big hug. Good job I didn't get the chance to foster her, she'd never have left Dunoon!
