So sorry to hear about the problems with Ziggy. Great news that the first biopsy result has come back clear - lets hope the good news continues.
Give him a hug for us when you next see him. Have heard that the vet school is amazing - one of the guys I work with was involved in a motor accident before xmas and his dog was badly hurt. He was rushed to the vet school unable to walk, and they didn't honestly hold out much hope for him, but thanks to the expert care and treatment he has, just this week, started to walk again.
That's a bit more positive and hopefully everything will be nice and straightforward (given the circumstances) on Thursday. We'll be rooting for him. It must be a relief that the vet school are keeping you updated regularly and you're not having to sit and wonder what is happening to your poor lad for too long.
Everything crossed for Ziggy. Give the pair of them a big hug from us.
So sorry to hear about Ziggy's problems, Jenny. I don't know what to say about the bone problem, although hopefully since the first biopsy has come back clear this bodes well.
As for the heart thing, I grew up with a dog that, at 4 years old, was diagnosed with an irregular heart. We were always told it would be a problem, but that dog lived until he was 12, and in the end it wasn't his heart that was the problem. He also managed fine through 3 or 4 operations/anaesthetics after being diagnosed with the heart problem. I would have to assume Ziggy has the same or a similar thing.
Fingers and toes crossed for Ziggy here, I'm sure that before too long he'll be back to his old self.
Sorry to hear about the compications with Ziggys leg. You must be climbing the walls with worry. Hope the second set of results bring more good news on that front. Fingers crossed the ops goes smoothly.
Jenny, hope everything goes well for your boy tomorrow. Will be thinking of you and wishing you all the best . I hope with all my heart that the rest of the biopsy's are clear and i realise how worried you must be. Please let us know how it all goes with his op. x
The vet called last night and said Ziggy was a bit brighter yesterday and more responsive to her than before. She said however he hadn't tried to get up at all. I had a wee chuckle because you may know that Ziggy's favourite place is lying in his bed.
His heart is still erratic but it was more under control when he had the anaesthetic for the biopsies which she said was good.
She will take him in for his operation around 2pm today so send lots of positive vibes around then!
He initially gave the anaesthetist problems but they got him under control and were happy throughout the rest of the procedure.
She has put a pin in the bone and a plate along it. She said the bone didn't' obviously have malignant areas but it could still be subtle and we won't know for sure until the biopsy comes back.
She was worried about the amount of bruising he had on his chest from the fall so they are checking out reasons why that may have occurred.
He will be in intensive care tonight and she will update me tomorrow on his progress. I'm visiting him on Sunday. I can't wait to see him.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts. It has worked so far.
Thats great news Jenny, you must be so relieved. We'll keep all our paws fingers etc crossed until the results are back though. Big hugs to Ziggy when you see him on Sunday. xxxxxxx
Things are sounding more positive Jenny, give him a big hug when you see him on Sunday and hopefully you won't have to wait too long for results to put your mind at rest. x
Hi Jenny, just caught up with this as was off work yesterday. I hope Ziggy is ok and the results come back clear. Im keeping my fingers crossed for him

He's been up and about today walking already and has finally eaten some food after almost a week. His heart is settling down and they have decided it was due to stress. He'll be allowed home after the weekend when his heart is more stable.
He's such a star.
PS sorry if you're getting bored with all the updates but it helps to write it all down.
Jenny, updates are never, ever boring - they are extremely necessary to one and all! I'm so glad to hear that Ziggy is on the mend. Here's to a safe trip home for your boy and that he recovers from this horrible trauma very quickly.
I'm really pleased to hear that Ziggy is doing so well in such a short time! Your updates are NEVER boring and I, for one, INSIST that you keep us posted about his continued progress. Also looking forward to pictures of his return home to your family.
It's really nice to hear this Jenny, and NO the updates are not boring, as you should know from the length of this thread. If folk are like me, they will be logging on to specifically hear something positive about Ziggy, as we all care so much for the dogs, and all know how much the owners on here care. Hope you do get him home soon, as he will be missing his family so much.
Please, please, please keep feeding us the good news about Ziggy. There has been so many horrid stories in the press this week that it's nice to hear some good news.
Glad to hear things are looking up for Ziggy. Sending big hugs and kisses to him..and please keep us posted,we never tire of reading about our beloved pooches! Shirley and the gang
