Jenny, Pleased to hear Ziggy is home I bet you are so pleased to have him there. Lets hope he continues to do well, Love to Ziggy, you and of course not forgetting Vernon xx
Jenny, what a relief for you to get Ziggy home. I am so pleased for you. Hope Ziggy continues to improve, I am sure he will come on loads now that he is home.
Ziggy was at the vet school today for his check up. It was not good news. The bone tissue has started to die at the fracture site. It means it can't heal so we have had to make the decision to amputate his leg. Ziggy will go in on Wednesday morning for the operation.
Poor Ziggy and poor you. We'll be keeping our fingers and paws crossed at this end. Please let us know how he gets on. Will be thinking of you and him on Wednesday
Poor Ziggy. There was a three legged lurcher on telly the other night and they do seem to do fantastically well so I'm sure the outcome will be fine. Good luck with his operation tomorrow.
Ziggy has had his operation and is doing fine in recovery. There were no problems with his heart which was a concern last time. They said he should be up and about tomorrow getting used to 3 legs. His bone in his leg was very decayed and had started to smell quite bad so they agreed it was the best decision to amputate. This should be the end of a long and difficult process for him. Can't wait to get him back out on short walks with Vernon gradually building up his strength over the next few months He is also donating his amputated leg to veterinary research to test a blood substitute on the blood vessels.
Thats such a shame he's had to lose the leg, but i have met a few dogs with only 3 dogs and its surprising how well they do. They seem to adjust really quickly so im sure Ziggy will be just fine Bet your looking forward to getting him home, he's been through so much the last wee while.
It's great to hear Ziggy's doing well. He kept popping into my head today so I've been checking the forum regularly to see if you had posted an update. Hopefully he will be well and truely on the road to recovery now, it's been a horrendous journey for you all. Big licks from Dan and Sally.xxx
here's hoping Ziggy recovers well from his ordeal. how brave of him to donate his leg to research too - nice to know their work will eventually help another generation of dogs. xxxxxxxxxxx
I'm really glad to hear that Ziggy has come through his operation. Here's hoping he has a very speedy recovery and can put this whole ordeal behind him soon.
Keep us posted.
Thinking of you all, give your boys a hug from us here.
Glad to hear it went well today. What a rollercoaster of emotions you have been on over the past weeks. Hope it all continues to go well and you get out on those walks soon.

Only just caught up with this thread. Poor Ziggy, what a setback! Thank goodness he's made it through the operation okay, and we'll be sending lots of positive thoughts for his recovery.
