So sorry to hear your sad news. It was a long and difficult road for you all, but at least you know that Ziggy is now free from the pain and discomfort he must have been suffering.
Thank you all for your lovely messages for Ziggy. Ziggy was with me for just 14 months. It felt like a lifetime when I was saying goodbye. I never knew how much love a dog could give but I felt it everytime Ziggy came over to put his head on my lap. He didn't ask for much attention but gave me so much, in return for a simple uncomplicated life. He loved his bed as you all know, and so long as he had a wee cuddle whenever he felt like it he was happy. It has been a difficult week but yesterday we were stopped at traffic lights and the number plate of the car in front had the last 3 letters ZGY. Some people might think that is just a coincidence, or me overanalysing it. I'd like to think that was Ziggy saying hello.
He was so lucky to have you and you did so much for him. You tried your best for him which is all you could have done. Take comfort in knowing he'll be pain free now and he'll be watching down on you. Give Vernon a big hug from me as he must be wondering whats happened to his buddy

I don't think you're overanalysing at all. I'm also not to sure about coincidence. The day of my gran's funeral, we'd opted not to follow the hearse from Dunoon to Helensburgh (by road) which is about 56 miles as we felt it would be quite traumatic. We caught up with her at the Helensburgh turn off so went the other way. We then caught up with her at the bottom of Sinclair Street and ended up following her to Cardross. I'm quite certain that she wanted her family with her on that last short stretch so feel it is altogether possible that it was your boy dropping in to reassure you.
