Another HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!! Hope everyone is doing well and ready for another exciting year with GAL!!! We have just had our first great committee meeting of the year and we are CHARGED for the challenge this year brings. I just wanted to announce a few things~
First - we have scheduled some events for the first month and will have out shortly on the web events for the rest of the year. We are continuing to have great sucess at homing dogs at the Scottish SPCA so we will have a presence there every Saturday in the month with a Greyhound Awareness Day at the end of this month. We also have the dates for the Regular Monthly Walks and Awareness Days at Strathclyde Park and Holyrood Park this month and the rest of the year. So stay tuned for more exciting events..
Secondly and sadly we have to announce the "retirement" of Denise from her position of Vice-Convenor. Many of you may know that she has been very busy with personal family matters that requires more of her time. So she has bid us a farewell for now. She hopes to see us at events this year when possible. We wish her very well and to thank her so much for her many years (and hours) of support and committment to GAL. So we are now looking for an enthustiastic person to help fill the role. Any one who is interested please send me an email to linda@gal.org.uk.
Lastly, for those that haven't kept tabs on the dogs GAL has been handling - well the saying is "WHO LET THE DOGS OUT!". We have had many dogs coming in and some going out. The numbers keep growing, which is keeping poor Dave just a'running with homings. This is a good thing but it is also a growing strain on him to handle his other important role, which is TREASURER. So Dave has suggested we get him some help with his role as Treasurer. We are looking to add a new person to eventually take over the role as Treasurer. This new person will need to have some experience with accounting and can spend some time with Dave in preparing for the transition. So again any one interested please send me an email.
Thanks for your support and look forward to seeing you all at the next event!
