Tess needs an urgent foster home, she was homed by GAL last weekend and now her new 'owner' doesn't want her anymore, I need this wee girl moved ASAP, she's 4 yrs old, Greyhound Collie X, not neutered, fine with kids and other dogs, can be left by herself all day and has excellent recall.
The reason she's bouncing is because she likes to sleep on the sofa when her owner is out working and her new owner doesn't like her doing this, go figure....

Seriously?!! Does this person not realise that boxes on the furniture deters, if not stops, a dog from climbing on the furniture! (You can't see my sofa for green Safeway boxes just now!!).
I hope this little girl gets fostered very soon - poor thing!

Dave, she's lovely! I'm based north of aberdeen but if you get really stuck, I can foster her in the short term - it wont be ideal, I have four dogs, and am out about seven hours a day at present, so she mightnt get much walks but I do have a small paddock for exercise. And my sofas are open to any dog.
Oh for goodness sake! Think it is more of a lame excuse. How frustraiting for you Dave a lot of time waisted with home checks and appeals not to mention poor Tess being passed from pillar to post
Poor girlie. Some people just don't deserve to have an animal. Although things might seem awful just now, she's probably better off in the long run - those people sound moronic...
People like that really make my blood boil - what a pathetic excuse for giving up her dog - has she not heard of putting the dog in another room where the sofa is not eg put her in the kitchen or hallway etc. The novelty of having a dog has obviously worm off and she is just looking for a way out. Really wish we could help out but we both work full time and it would be a bit much to ask my mum and dad to look after another grey. Hope a foster home comes up soon.
Hi Folks, quick update, firstly thanks for the overwhelming response today regards TESS, situation not fully resolved however as I speak Tess is currently en route to meet some potential new foster parents, if she gets on OK with the other Greyhound in the house and vice versa she's got a foster home so everyone think good thoughts for the next few hours...Will update fully later..
Hi Folks, OK thanks for all your good thoughts, Tess is now happily in her new foster home..
I'd just like to say a huge thank you to EVERYONE that got in touch with me today either by phone or email, there's too many of you guys for me to respond personally to but I know you all visit here so a huge thanks to everyone who offered their sofa to Tess
Got to admit I was right annoyed about this one last night, Tess is our first 'bouncer' of the year made equally more annoying due to the nature of her return and the pressure put on GAL to take the dog back immediately...anyways I'm not going to dwell to long on this one and will look forward to some nice updates from her new foster parents in the coming days, thank you all for the happy ending.
Glad to hear she's in a new foster home. Why people take a dog then decide that they really don't want them is beyond me. Our lot weren't allowed on the couches at first and we put a dining chair on each one before we went out...no problem they just slept on their beds. It's a different story now...pooches on couches and humans on the floor!! Oh well our babies deserve all the comforts they can get and at the end of the day it's only a piece of furniture!!
Hope Tess finds a REAL forever home soon.

NO MATTER HOW LITTLE MONEY AND HOW FEW POSSESSIONS YOU OWN,HAVING A DOG MAKES YOU RICH.
Well, we won the lucky draw today :) As soon as Peter said that Tess was needing a foster place I was wanting to get on the phone and say 'me me me'. We'd been eyeing her up when she was on the homeless dogs page wondering whether it was time for that second dog yet.
Well what can I say, we're made up to get a second chance with her. Initially we said 'fostering' but to be honest I think it's been love at first sight.
Daz is fine with her though a wee bit unsettled of course. She's so cuddly and just wants to be wherever we all are so if Daz sits down, we sit down and she comes and lies across everybody.
She's very interested in the rats but the rats have been well socialised with Daz and as soon as she sniffed them they stood up and sniffed back which made her decide the kitchen was a FAR more interesting place to be
As I write Daz is lying on his mat on the landing, Peter sitting next to him and Tess roaching around contendly.
Just caught up with this post. Tess looks like a beautiful beautiful girl. My heart almost broke when I read that someone would value a couch over her, or any dog for that matter. At least she's now found a new home where she'll be loved and cared for.
Kathy, Peter & Daz - well done to you for taking Tess in. Sounds like the poor soul is getting her reward now with you guys, lots of luck and photos pleeeez!
So glad to hear of Tess's lucky break, she is gorgeous and much more important than any stick of old furniture! These folk dont know what they are missing, that no money can buy!
Well done Kathye on taking on Tess. Now she has a proper happy home to call her own, Hope Daz' nose isnt out of joint for too long. Yvonne Angus and Jennax
Hi Everyone Thanks for all the good wishes for Tess! I will write some more about her on the Foster Dog Updates section. I'm not sure whether she is actually a foster dog though. Kathye thinks she may be here to stay. We'll see...... I've always fancied a collie lurcher but they don't seem to come up for re-homing all that often. Then Tess came up on the homeless pages and I kept looking at her and deciding I didn't want another dog and particularly didn't want to upset or unsettle Daz, he's my soul dog and is the most special dog I've ever met. Then Tess was gone from the homeless pages and I was happy for her that she'd found her forever home. Then yesterday she was back needing an urgent foster home... and now she's here.... as a foster dog.... yeah right!
