Hi Peter, Janie is making progress, thank you for asking. I finally managed to move back into mine after a month of sleeping on the floor at my parents with janie. She is now able to get in and out of the car and get up and down the stairs which has enabled us to get back into the routine she was used to before the accident. We just have to be careful that she doesn't do anything that will cause her to have a set back, which is proving quite hard as she has stored up some serious energy. her co-ordination isn't what it used to be and she slips and stumbles quite easily so we need to take care. She is now only on a low maintenance dose of drugs so I am very pleased. She is back to enjoying her walks with her buddy and some of them are pretty long she can manage about 3 miles, taking it at her pace, which is good as this is helping to build her up. It will be a few months yet till we know how much lasting damage there will be but signs are good for 80-95% recovery. I really am so proud of my little fighter. How is Daz getting on after his accident, hope he is recovering well and nearly back to his old happy self.
Hi Nicki So glad she seems to be making such good progress. Fingers crossed for an almost complete recovery. Daz is fine. His injury was scary and very painful for a few days but luckily there was no serious underlying damage and all he needed was rest and about 10 days on steroids. He's 100 % normal now, thanks for asking. It is so frightening when they're badly hurt.
All the very best wishes to Wee Janies recovery, you must feel a lot better now that she is home and hopefully this will make her feel better in herself. Please keep us updated on how she progress,s. Nora

Really, really pleased to hear that Janie is making such good progress. I was in the vets the other day and was asking for her. Here's to the wee soul getting better and better with every day.
Hi Nicki, just caught up with this thread.....(I got it mixed up with another one)! Hope Janie continues to make good progress. We are thinking about you both. Take care Dawn and all my gang x
Great to hear Janie's on the road to recovery! Every day she's getting that little bit better. Sending big hugs to both of you from me, and licks from Vegas and Dixie!
Nicki, Its so good to hear Janie is on the road to recovery and enjoying walks again after such a worrying time. The strength and determination shown by many greys is amazing!
Hi everyone, My wee Janie suffered a bit of a set back today, we were out on our afternoon walk having a lovely time when she was attacked by a spaniel. Couldn't believe it, janie was just minding her own business on the lead when this thing just flew at her. Thankfully her wounds are just superficial and no stitches required but she took some knocks to her back end. Bless her she never even tried to defend herself she just cried. Once I finally managed to get the dog away from her, (the spaniels owner being no help what-so-ever, his only contribution was to try and throw the lead at his dog) she was struggling to walk and dragging her right hind leg. Once I got her home and cleaned up she actually started to walk a bit better, so i am just praying that she is just going to be a bit sore and stiff and that no lasting damage has been done. My poor wee girl, she is just so gentle and doesn't deserve this on top of all she has just been through.
Niicki how awful for wee Janie and you, thank god it is only superficial wounds but what a knock back for her. Janie is such a kindly dog and for this to happen is horrid. All the very best and hope there is no future problems because of todays incident. Hugs to Wee Janie. Nora

Nicki sorry to hear about this happening to Janie, esp after what she has just been through. When Kaz was attacked by those fighting staffies, he just cried and didnt do anything to defend himself, its heartbreaking to see our gentle giants being attacked. I hope this doesnt set her back in the progress she was making. Big Hugs to Janie from me xx
Nicki, I hope Janie is feeling better, it is unbelievable how some dog owners react when their pet is offlead and out of control. Give Janie a big hug from me Marie
So sorry to hear this, poor Janie and you do NOT deserve this bad luck. Sending lots of good wishes for Janie's recovery, and fingers crossed for quieter times.
Poor Janie, she just isn't having much luck recently Hopefully things will take a turn for the better now and she'll be on the mend. Give her a big hug from me I know you love any excuse to give her an extra hug
Hi everyone, thank you all for your kind words about Janie. A wee update, she has recovered remarkably well after the spaniel attacked her, thankfully it didn't do any lasting damage. her wounds are healing up nicely and she has suffered no ill effects to her personality, she still wants to say hello to every dog she meets. Which is good for her but I feel very nervous now whwnever i see a spaniel coming towards her. Had her at the vets the other day just for a check up to see how she is doing after everything she has been through and they are amazed at how far she has come, so things are looking very positive for her. Jennifer, Janie says thank you for the hug, she just loves her cuddles
