Been thinking about the easter collar parade and just had a question. Is it a similar idea to an easter bonnet parade? Making or decorating a fancy easter collar for your dog to dress up? Or is it just who has the most flash collar from a shop. I'm assuming its the first one but want to make sure before I get all sticky back plastic and yogurt pots about it.
Actually I had planned to post this Wednesday but was traveling and was delayed by 3 hours so didn't get to it until today!

Won't be able to bring Cara (we don't call her sick bag for nothing) can I send a collar without a dog? Is anyone from Edinburger going? they could find a dog to model my collar for me, I'll pay the entrance fee! Anne
So is Most Outrageous a seperate class? Can I bring more sensible ones for the other classes and then an over the top one for that or should I just go with over the top.
Are many people going to the Easter Collar Parade? We are going to try and make along with 2 of our dogs. Are people making their own collars or is it mainly "posh bought" collars (ie Kitsch collars)? Just so if we make it on Saturday i have an idea of what to put on my dogs. Don't want to turn up in funny homemade collars if no one else is
I've been a bit worried about that too! My mum came over last night armed with lots of sequins, tissue paper and ribbon - so we're going for it! Assuming of course that Tigerlily stops eating the ribbon... Might have to put it on her just as we are entering a class - and to stop it falling apart due to flimsy sewing and gluing techniques! Not ever having grown up with boys, I have no idea what to do with Indiana's collar. I think his will be a much less classy affair
I'm assuming that it is home made collars - no fun at all if we just buy something. So rest assured that Timmy will be there sporting his home made finery.
The collars can be bought or made - we actually are going to have one for those that just made homemade ones so show us what you can do with collars! :)
EEEEKKKKK got everything ready for tomorrow then realised I don't know where I am going. Tried AA route finder and it can't find Langside College I need the Postcode.
Can anyone give us directions off the M8 coming from Edinburgh or put up the link to the map?
Hope its not to late and all my glueing and sticking is in vane.
Landess

Postcode is G42 9LB but when I type that into MUltimap the directions it comes up with don't seem to describe how I would go. Basically you want to aim for Hampden stadium. This means going along the M8/A8 until you get to the turn off for the M74 soutwards. Go up this turnoff and onto the M74 and get into the outside lane because you are going to be taking the turn to the right when the motorway splits - I think it is signposted Glasgow South. Go along this motorway and take the turnoff labelled Rutherglen. Follow the signs for Rutherglen - there are lots of roundabouts just keep going following Rutherglen until you get to a T junction with lights where you turn right and basically keep following that road, right through the centre of Rutherglen and further. You will come to a big set of traffic lights where there is a huge Asda on the right and signs for Hampden on the left (you can see the stadium) at this point forget about Hampden and go straight on through the lights, up the hill and on the other side of the hill the college is on the left. Look forward to seeing you. Sheila
While it was abit on the low turnout - those that did come along got to see a very exciting and fantastic show! I'm hoping that Claire - our great photographer will soon show photo's of the event! Every dog entered had a great collar and some even had some pretty great accessories as well!
We did raise £550 for GAL and I wish to thank the Judge - Roseanne McGinn and her daughter Mandy for having the tough job of picking out the prized ones since all the dogs were such winners!
I also want to thank Discount Pets for coming along with their wares - hope that they enjoyed the day. Of course to Lorna & Lesley for bringing the GAL Shop with the many wonderful items, Iluska in her bunny suit and her side bunny Sophie and to Andy, Siouxsie, Jennifer, Alexis, Toby and Andrew who helped the event become such a fun day! Just wait till you see the photo's! I think everyone who came enjoyed the day!
For those who couldn't make it - hope to see you next year! Linda
Zoe and Millie look fab in their collars.......Zoe was probably lying down most of the time...so that people could see her collar properly Well done to the fund raisers
The after-show party... Two exhausted but happy dogs! Tigerlily is dreaming of how gorgeous she looks in her new kitsch collar whereas Indiana is in such a deep sleep his tongue is sticking out. We had a great time. Well done to all who took part
