Hi Tess was Spayed a at the beginning of last week (I know, its taken me ages to post this pic!). Because she is fit and muscular she had a bit of bleeding from the muscle layer and they put on this giant pink body bandage to give some extra support for the first 24 hours. Poor thing, she hated it! She was very sorry for herself the first evening and only made it half-way up stairs before lying down trembling with her heart pounding. I carried her the rest of the way and she lay limply at our feet for the rest of the evening.
She bounced back in a couple of days and is now acting completely normal but is still on light lead exercise. She was meant to have her stitches out on Wednesday but the vet decided to leave them in until monday because the muscle wall is thick. She had to sleep in her muzzle a couple of nights but has lost interest in licking her tummy now.
Awww!!! Tess it looks like a big nappy, poor love. Glad to here she is getting better. Will have to meet up so I can get to meet the lovely Tess and you can meet Rag. Nora

Hope Tess is better soon, Peter. She looks a bit sorry for herself in the photo, but I'm sure she'll be back to normal as soon as the big pink nappy comes off! Poor girl, she's just wondering what's happened to her.
Hi Tess had her stitches out this morning and is well on the way to recovery. The vet says she should take it easy for another week or so but I don't think Tess agrees. We'll give it a few more days anyway, she's getting full walks but stays on the lead. The big pink bandage is a distant memory! (and anyway, Tess says the dog in the picture isn't her, its her long-lost twin with no sense of taste or style).
