That's great news. I'm so pleased for your brave lad.
They do have a knack for turning heads and melting hearts, don't they! I've had a vet here ask if we ever can't keep Millie (for any reason) give her first dibs. Two things here, firstly she doesn't stand a chance of us giving her up and secondly, as agreed, she'd go back to GAL!
You better watch that the staff don't snaffle him away!
Just caught up with Scooby's accident. What a fright you must have had. Lots of healing thoughts to both of you and I am so glad that Scooby is on the mend. Get well soon Scooby Love Eleanor and Flash

He had his weekly vets appointment on Tuesday & they are so happy with him.
He is to keep the metal cast on for a further 3 weeks & then they are going to take him in sedate him & take the cast off to do xrays to see if the bone & pins have taken.
He is walking on his leg a little which is good too.
He is now sporting a welly sock on his leg to cover the bandages as he's a little monkey for licking the bandages & of course they get soaked, but with the welly sock it's stopped him. I didn't want him to have the lampshade (collar) on him as it would make him so miserable.
When on our little short walks he is getting hyper when seeing rabbits so thats a good sign he is getting better too. Long time before he gets off the lead again though.
Also 'thank you' BOWBANG for asking how Scooby is getting on.

Poor Scooby indeed. What a sad poor me looking doggy :( But so glad to hear he is on the mend. Its amazing how these dogs can suffer serious injuries and recover so speedily. All the TLC is working, more is required
Our thoughts, hugs and lix from all at Balloch are with you and Scooby
Took Scoobs for his appointment to the vets this morning. They kept him in to give him a slight sedation & to xray his leg as he is no longer attempting to walk on it anymore. The vet has just phoned me to say she is going re operate on him again tomorrow afternoon because his leg is not healing as well as they hoped because one of the pins in his leg has snapped & is stopping him from walking & another pin is being sent to the lab due the infection he has, to be tested to make sure the antibiotics we are giving him are the correct ones. Apparently its one of those things to happen & it's happened to Scooby !
So were not happy with what we have been told & i'm feeling so down in the dumps about it all. Poor boy will feel like he's been in the boxing ring again by wednesday when the sedative will of worn off him again & he'll have the nasty bruises to show too.
It was 5 weeks ago since the accident happened & looks like another 10 weeks again for him having to have the metal cast on his leg !
I really hope this nightmare is going to end for Scooby soon as he's been through so much already. So no wee man for the next 2 nights again & hopefully shall get him home sometime on Wednesday.

Poor Scooby! What a shame as he seemed to be getting better. Fingers crossed everything goes well with him this time. Let us know how he is when he comes home on Wednesday.
Operation went well, they took the pins out & put even more back into his leg, op took 3 1/2 hours !!! She phoned the orthapaedic specialist in Dundee & spoke to him for reassurance & he said what she has done is all she could have done to his leg. The infection is nothing to worry about & he's to stay on the extra strong antibiotics ! They said Scoobs was a star throughout & he is to stay in the surgery for an extra few days for her peace of mind & for bandage changing ! I'm so going to miss not having my wee man around but it's for the best he stays there. Another vet & vet nurse is on duty tonight throughout the night & i'm phoning first thing tomorrow to see how he is. We are all keeping our fingers crossed that this time everything is going to work !
She also mentioned he is very 'vocal' which i know but he has been talking & singing all day well until his op which started at 3:30pm. They have just started to bring him around & even now he is talking !!!
