Oh, that is brilliant news about your two!! So pleased, I have followed your posts from the beginning. It was quite a worry. Really felt for you. Just getting back to posting again, stayed out of things for a while, but your news has compelled me to start posting again. Keep us updated in their progress. Have a lovely holiday, you deserve it. Marian x
A HAPPY UPDATE FOR YOU ALL: Both Scooby & Mia were at the vets yesterday.
Firstly Mia - The vet is so very pleased with her, her weight is back at what it should be but they don't have a clue why she is much weaker on her leftside than on her right. She is being kept on her meds & the vet is that pleased she doesn't want to see her now until 1 months time.
Scooby - He was slightly sedated yesterday & xrayed on his leg. The vet is really pleased with him & his leg is making really good progress. So that good news, a long way to recovery but we are determined to get there with him & Mia.
Our caravanning holiday was nice, it was such a good relaxation for us all, although i did leave Mia behind with my mum just incase something was to happen.
So yes we are actually seeing light at the end of the tunnel at long last.

I haven't given you all an update for a while so i thought i better had over Mia & Scooby.
I'll start with Ma first.
Mia has been doing really well. All the weight she lost she has gained again plus more :) She is to stay on her meds for the rest of her life but as the vet says if we are happy with Mia & Mia is happy in herself then we will keep her the way she is. Mia will have a permanent limp on her front left leg but she isn't in any pain whatsoever. So she is going for check ups every 3 months from now on. So we are pleased with her.
Now on to Scooby:
Scooby was at the vets yesterday (Monday) for a sedation to get xrays done on his leg. The vet (Jane) is absolutely delighted with the xrays as she now says the repair is holding well & is binding together just the way she was hoping for it to go. She says she will sleep better now too :) :) She has left the metal cast attached to his leg for better security. He is to go back in 1 months time for another sedation & xrays & if she is happy with them xrays fingers crossed Scooby will get the metal cast off. I will clean the leg & redress it 4 times a week which will help stop any infections getting in about with the open wounds he has in his legs due to the metal cast being screwed into his leg. Jane doesn't need to see him now for 1 month but i will take him back if i'm not happy over something or am worried over anything.
So all in all we are finally on the 'slow' road to recovery & can actually see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So thats Mia & Scoobys update for now :) :) :)

Great news Sally. It must have seemed like it was never ending for you. But, now you know, there is light at the end of the tunnel !! Keep us updated. Marian.
aawww poor wee scooby, and poor you. Glad to hear he's on the road to recovery, your heart must have been in your mouth when it happened. Hope your brave wee fella keeps improving.
There is no change in Mia, she's still plodding along & still on her meds :)
Scooby was at the vets today for his xray. The good news is ........ HE GOT HIS METAL CAST OFF !!! yyyiiipppeeeeee :) :) :) :)
His leg has healed superbly. Just the holes where the metal cast that was attached on & in his leg has to heal but the vet says that will take no time at all.
This has taken 6 months which when i think about it the time has flown by.
He still has to take things easy for the next 3 - 4 months, small short walks & not being let off the lead by then he'll have recovered 100%.
We are so pleased that we are near to the end of this nightmare.
So yes i just thought i'd update you all.

Sally, Glad to hear that both Mia and Scooby (who is a real dead ringer for my own Chad) are doing well, What a terrible time you've had with those hounds. Glad to hear all is improving for you all Em and Chad xx
This new break is not the original one, it is further down the leg.
The vet has bandaged it up with a 'Robert Jones' bandage' & we are giving it 6 - 8 weeks to see if it will heal. If not then we have no alternative but to have the leg amputated. We are giving him 200% chance to try everything before the inevitable should happen.
The vet & i are absolutely gutted & we were both in tears as we had got so far. Jane (the vet) says she thinks there could be an underlying problem if this break doesn't heal & can't understand why or how a new break appeared as all he had done was slip on wet grass while out for our walk !
So unfortuntaely the saga continues.

How horrible for that to happen you must all be very upset. Guess there may be a problem there if the leg broke so easily. Hope all goes well. That is some size of a bandage he is carrying Nora
