I wondered if any of you plan to come along on the day to watch the race and cheer on our runners (Sunday 27th May)?
GAL have a cheering point at our Waterstation at Port Seton Links on the day - 9-12.30pm. Look out for the GAL banner and red balloons (Scooby Doo might make an appearance too!). If you plan to attend the Edinburgh Dog walk on the same day, why not drop by the cheering point on the way before the walk?
We have in total 11 volunteers for the water station, but it would be nice if people could make it along to watch the race too and cheer on the entrants. Also if you would be able to help out at the water station, we could do with a few more volunteers for that. Just drop me a line, lorna@gal.org.uk.
It should be a great atmosphere and lots of fun.
Looking forward to seeing you there and I want to wish all the entrants the very best of luck with the relay and marathon. They have so far raised over £1800 for GAL and are on target to make at least £2500, so deserve every bit of support we can give them.
The race starts at 9am - and we are at the water station where the relay 2 and 3 runners change over - so I estimate we won't see our runners coming through until around 10am as this is the 7.2 mile mark.
We will be prepared to spot people from 9.30am onwards!
