I'm sure everyone has noticed a change or too with members, so the news is sadly Dave has rendered his resignation as Homing Coordinator. Everyone can agree he has done a wonderful job in rehoming dogs. We the Committee thank him for his work and wish him well.
It is also Carole Robinson's personal family situation that has lead her to submit her resignation as Foster Coordinator. We also wish to thank her for her help and support to GAL and wish the best for her and her family! Thank you Carole!
So we are in search of a new Homing Coordinator and Foster Coordinator. If anyone is interested in learning about these roles - please just drop me a quick email at linda@gal.org.uk !
Incredibly big shoes to fill. It's no exaggeration to say Dave and Carole have been THE most influential GAL committee members in our greyhound-related lives.
Carole - thank you for all the advice you gave us when we first got Pearly. You may have brushed the daily phone calls from your memory but we'll never forget them! Your reassurance and confidence in us was invaluable. Same goes for when we got Harry. All the old turmoil came rushing back and you helped us through it.
Dave - thank you for never minding when we asked continual questions about dog after dog after dog after dog when we were thinking about getting greyhound number two. If everyone is like us, little wonder that the hardest part of your job was rehoming the second dog.
What's happening, your dropping off like flies Thanks Dave for all the help with Millie at the start with all her heart problems and helping to find me the right dog You've clearly been dedicated to caring for the dogs for so long and have put a lot of your spare time into finding homes for the many dogs in GAL's care and getting some dogs out of sticky situations! I'll be sorry to see you go and think they'll struggle to find someone who will "fill" your post! Good Luck in the future and take it you'll still be keeping in touch?!
I would also like to add my heartfelt thanks to Dave for finding Mason for me and all your help on all matters groo. I hope you'll continue to be involved with GAL in the future. Marie
I am so sorry to hear of both Dave and Carole resigning from GAL , they have both in their own way done above and beyond the call of duty for greyhounds and my dog and many others would not be in the homes they are in without their dedication and the self-less time they have given. You will both be sorely missed and a great loss to GAL. My family and I would like to wish you all the best for the future and hope you will still log on and let us know how you are both doing. THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS Nora

As everyone else has said - Thank you very much, both of you, for all your hard work, for the homing of all the greyhounds over the years, the excellent fostering advice you've given and the countless hours you've spent on GAL matters! There are hundreds, if not thousands, of greyhounds in wonderful homes now because of your work. The story for them could have been so different and doesn't bear thinking about.
Thank you for choosing Vegas for us - he's my special boy and we all love him dearly. And for Dixie, who's the cutest, naughtiest girl in town and we love her to bits too.
Hope you won't be cutting yourselves off entirely, but that we'll see you now and again at GAL events. Good luck to both of you in the future!
I'm shocked and stunned! It always seemed that the GAL committee were timeless. This is like being told that the sun will no longer rise in the East and set in the West!
Best of luck to whoever takes up the respective mantles - they have hard acts to follow.
I would also like to reiterate what everyone else has said and congratulate Dave and Carole on their marvellous work for needy greys over the years. They have done so much for everyone and I'm sure they'll be sorely missed. I sincerely hope that they both keep us posted.
