I bought a book in Tesco tonight called "Walking Ollie" by Stephen Foster for £3.73. It's about him rescuing a lurcher pup (saluki/greyhound cross) from a rescue centre and his struggle to turn this difficult animal into something resembling a domestic pet. I've just started it, and what I've read so far is so funny and so true! I thought of Esther and her Salukis.
I just wondered if anyone else had read it and enjoyed it.
My dad bought me that book as it was a saluki/grey like Casper. I really enjoyed it. I cringed a lot and laughed so much at the parts that reminded me of Casper!

I got this book last year for my birthday and I couldn't stop laughing. His experiences with Ollie will be very familiar to many greyhound and lurcher owners.
It's a fantastic book. I got it for my husband at Christmas time and even though he rarely reads, he was totally taken with it. I laughed out loud the whole way through it and any time Indiana is giving me hassle with his behaviour I think on some of the episodes in this book and remind myself that there can be light at the end of the tunnel!
