ASDA HAVE ALLOCATED GAL A DATE FOR A CAN COLLECTION IF ANYONE IS ABLE TO GIVE A COUPLE OF HOURS TO HELP OUT BETWEEN 10am and 4pm, ON SATURDAY 7 JULY 2007THEN PLEASE GET IN TOUCH WITH ME BY EMAIL AT joymacd@hotmail.com or send me a private message.PLEASE DON'T THINK THAT YOU NEED HAVE TO STAY FOR THE DURATION OF THE COLLECTION, OR THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE A GREYHOUND.  ANY TIME YOU CAN GIVE AT ALL WILL BE MUCH APPRECIATED. JOYCE

No, I'm afraid that so far there are no more collections in that area. 

Coincidentally I also have a wedding on 7 July!  Although just an evening invitation.  But I'll manage along to collect some cash before heading out for the evening.

I have written many letters requesting can collections, but have been turned down by most of them. 

This one and a further one on September 13, at Asda, St Rollox are the only collections I have been able to secure so far.

I will keep plodding away and hopefully will be able to get another couple of dates.

Can collections are not just fund raisers, but are very useful in raising awareness of the work that GAL volunteers do.

Joyce - just wondered if you'd written to Asda, Cumbernauld - they have can collections outside the store regularly for all sorts of charities? Or there's a big Tesco at Cumbernauld, too! Lots of people are visiting now the new part of the Town Centre is open.

aaaah! I seriously want to make this. I am considering ditching the wedding for it. Buying an expensive outfit to wear for one day with folk I hardly know versus a day out collecting money with my boy? I know what I want to do evileye.gif

It is with much pleasure that I can announce that the total collected at Asda Livingston yesterday is:
£284.10

Huge thanks to: Marie and Mason, Diane and Bella, Jennifer with Willow and Millie, Carolyn and Flash and Rhona and Sophie!Thanks also to Linda, who despite suffering with a very bad neck accompanied me to make sure that I didn't get lost!  She is a great co-driver!

It was a day of sunshine and very sharp showers!  There were lots of families doing their weekly shopping.  They not only took the time to put some cash in the collecting cans, but also showed a lot of interest in the gorgeous dogs, who as usual were the stars of the day.  Which is absolutely fine!  They all behaved impeccably and are a credit to their owners.

Thanks once again and hope to see you all soon.
