Lucy has been with us for a fortnight now and she honestly is a wee gem of a dog. She's a very small girl,18 months old and just the right size for sitting on lapsbiggrinbut what she lacks in size she more than makes up for in personality and everyone who has met Lucy is totally smitten by her! She absolutely loves being petted and the minute you start stroking her she rolls onto her back so she can get a good tummy rub,her favourite thing! Lucy likes a lot of contact and snuggling and if she isn't actually sitting on you likes to be curled right up beside you.

Lucy looking soulful.....

She seems to be great with kids of all ages but can occasionally bounce when she gets really excited. Talking of which, her first night here she bounced onto the kitchen worktop, bounced over the fence that our dogs have been too well behaved(okay, stupidbiggrin) to realise they could jump over easily and managed to squeeze through the railings into next doors green!

Partners in crime-Lucy on the left and Jazz

Lucy pulls on the lead quite a lot at the moment but is improving and getting lots of praise and treats. She has had a waggy tail and a friendly sniff for all the dogs we have met so far, both on and off lead but has sadly had a couple of run ins with our Murphy. To be fair though,Murphy did instigate them and Lucy being such a feisty girl didn't back off. We think Murphy has finally met his match!

How can anyone resist those eyes??

Contentment is a yummy bone and a comfy bed

Lucy is very active and playful and has run Murphy and Jazz ragged some days by wanting to run and chase when all they want to do is laze in the sun and chill. She would definitely suit someone who enjoys walking as she has bundles of energy and loves her off-lead runs, exploring everything and running full pelt.  Her recall is fab, especially if you are holding something tasty,of course!

My 3 musketeers-dog tired!

So far,Lucy is proving to be an absolute joy and we have been so lucky to be able to look after her till she gets her 'forever home'. She is waggy and bouncy and loving, knows sit, wait, off and no, has shown no interest in the cats apart from what they've left in their bowls and is basically just too good to be true.  Hmmm-that's a worrying thought!  Watch this space just in case Lucy turns out to be short for Luciferbiggrin

'Everyone who has met Lucy is totally smitten'
I was lucky enough to meet her and she is a super girl, being totally smitten is so true when you see her. aww

I love pictures 2 & 3 they remind me of my own little boy Presley when he was young, esp those eyes, how could anyone not love a face like that. heart.gif

I hope Lucy finds her forever home soon x

She is so sweet, is she OK at being left in the house by herself, you know, if her forever home was with people who work full time hmm Not that I want this information for me, you understand, I have promised OH I'm not looking for another dog, but it might help if any 'out all day' folk' were looking for a nice wee pet.wink If I thought Cara wouldn't go in to a giant huff, stop eating and fade away to nothing, I'd love to foster, well done Murphyandco, it wont take long for Lucy to find a new home with you posting all these fab photos.

Oh no! Have just looked at Lucy's thread this morning and discovered that Alan has loaded it into the wrong section-she should be under Foster Dog updates. Does anybody know how to move it please?

Lucy's gorgeous - I love the 3rd photo too with her soulful eyes, but they're all good of her, Murphy and Jazz! Her black coat is so glossy! She looks such a happy wee soul and I hope it won't be long before she gets her forever home!

She is absolutely gorgeous. We talked about some play company for Sally, as she is starting to learn how to play now, however, i don't think Dan would take to kindly to being bossed about by another girl!! Sally is definately the boss around here!

[IMG]https://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c330/Murphyandco/CIMG0635.jpg[/IMG

We took advantage of the break in the rain on Sunday and took ourselves off for a day at the seaside.  We all had a fab day out with lots of running, splashing and sniffingbiggrin I like this photo of the three of them because it shows how small Lucy is-she can easily run under the legs of both Murphy and Jazz!!

Lots of scary teeth, but they ARE playing, honestlybiggrin

Murphy and Lucy enjoying a wee snooze after a busy day...

When I first looked at this photo of Lucy I couldn't figure out what she was carrying in her mouth. Then I zoomed in and realised it was her tongue, lol!!

When Lucy first came to stay with us we did get a bit confused sometimes between her and Jazz as they were pretty much the same size and looked very alike, especially when tearing round the garden. But Jazz just keeps on growing and there's no danger we could confuse them now! We had a horrible few days where Jazz took it upon herself to make wee Lucy's life a misery-basically she turned into a bully overnight-but we are following the sound advice Siouxsie gave us and things are much better now, thankfully, but Lucy has a big scab under her chin and Jazz has a couple of bald patches toocry
We are hoping to attend the walk at Holyrood on Sunday if anybody would like to meet Lucy and see fgor themselves how gorgeous she is!

Forgot to say that Lucy's recall is still fab,but she still tends to pull on the lead. I've now started to use the clicker to try and get her not to pull so much so wish us luck! Lucy has been fine so far when left alone with another dog or dogs for company but my net curtains looked totally different after I took Murphy and Jazz out without her for 20 mins...on the plus side though, she now seems quite happy in a room on her own for a while(door open or shut) and doesn't always feel the need to follow us all round the houseaww
And Lucy's favourite hobby at the moment is running full pelt through the prickliest gorse bushes she can find. Ouch!!

I'm sure there are some more reliable methods of avoiding having children hmm but I am glad to see that Lucy could slip in without being noticed. I'm just worried I wouldn't pass the GAL vettingcry My dog's too thin, and I work full time. Do you know where I could get a fat suit for Cara?weirdface

That is absolutely fantastic news for wee Lucy, she's a cracking wee dog and you are going to miss her loads, but if she has gone to live with the nice couple we met on the walk at Holyrood then she is going to be one pampered pooch biggrin.gif
