Greyhound Awareness League - Awareness Day
Permalink Closed

Hello Everyone,

The Awareness Day will be held at the Findlaystone East Lodge Kennels in Langbank on Saturday, July 21st from 11am - 3pm! There are 20 lovely dogs that are in need of a permanet home! We hope that those interested in having a dog will come down to meet these happy hounds!

So come on down and meet them, take them out for a nice walk and enjoy the day! We won't talk about the weather but what ever the weather is - you can be sure the hounds will enjoy the attention!

I'll have my baked goodies to entice some volunteers to come and help out!! If anyone is interested in helping out - please send me an email to linda@gal.org.uk !

Hope to see you there!
Linda

Catherine,

Sorry I missed your email - last night I was busy baking away for the Day.The kennels are in Langbank. However, our next big event to help out volunteering is on August 12th at Strathclyde Park in Motherwell! I'll get in touch with you the week before to see if you would like to come along and help out!

As for today - it was a good day - very busy! We had 2 dogs that went home and 6 homing applications given out - 2 filled in while they were there! All the dogs were out and about and as we left - after 5pm as many folk stayed till well after 4pm - most of the dogs were sound asleep!

The shop did over £288 in sales and the weather was good - very sunny and mild!
Pictures to be added soon by Iluska!

Thanks to Steve, Denise, Iluska & Andy, Kathleen, Rene, Jennifer, Helene & hubby ,Jacqui, Catherine and Robert for coming along - with your dogs to walk all the dogs and to help out with the day!!! Well done everyone!
Linda

Brilliant to hear that it was a busy day and about 2 dogs going to their forever homes.

So glad you had good weather too, especially with how is has been recently.

So glad two dogs were homed, Linda. I knew that Magnum got a new home, but did Red go to a new home too? I hoped Captain would find a home as he isn't doing too well in kennels and he's such a lovely, quiet and laid back kinda guy!

We are doing a home check for a couple who is interested in Red - let's hope that it works out. Captain is in a foster home just now and we too hope to find him a home from all the applications we received!

Nice seeing you there too!
Linda
