nothing to do with anything

this doesnt have anything to do with anything on this forum but i dont have anything else to do.

i just got deleted from my rottweiler forum basically for standing up for myself after being bombarded by bullying messages...

how come it feels like everyone is always against me...

i guess im just feeling sorry for myself, the past week hasnt been much fun and in the end my dog might need put down.. and i automatically become the evil one... i'd like to see how they'd feel faced with the same situations

Obviously I have no idea what you have been going through and all I can say is chin up.  I know how it feels when everyone seems to be against you.  Hope things improve soon.  smile

I can only echo what Karen has said. Sometimes it seems as if everything and everyone is against you. Fingers crossed that everything improves for you and your dog!

I second that motion that I really hope you & your dog have a much better upcoming weekend! My thoughts & prayers are with you!

I think I can relate to you - not sure but on Monday I was in a car accident which the car is totalled ( I'm okay just very sore & tired) but then to add to the injury today while walking my dog this afternoon - who is not well either - i got stung by a bee on my.. er.. my backside! What a week, eh?

Hope that last part makes you laugh - I wasn't laughing earlier but now reading it in print I guess I can say this week has been "a real pain in the a**"!

Glad to  hear you weren't hurt in the accident.  It's a horrible experience even if there are no injuries!  A car is replaceable.

Also sorry to hear about your sore bee-hind.  It's not really funny but, of all the places!  wink

So glad you weren't badly hurt in the accident that wrecked your car! But it must have left you shaken and sore! Hope you get over it soon.

To suffer the accident was bad enough, but as for the sting in the tail, well, what can I say - my sympathies are with you!

Thanks for the sympathies - I'm still quite sore but healing and I think my pride was more hurt than the"end" so I'm moving on!

Hope everyone has had a nice week so far - only 2 days till the weekend!
Linda

I hope not - it's bad enough if the dog is suffering.  Fingers crossed for you.

Hi Helen

Please keep us posted on how your dog is getting on! I know you said he/she might need to be pts, but you didn't say why. I can imagine the agony you're going through just now if your dog is ill.

My thoughts are with you.

Christine

my dog was a stray who came to my kennels badly underweight and with one hell of an attitude problem. at first we thought he'd be un-rehomable because he was so aggressive.

as the days past he gradually came round, after a few weeks i began to fall for him and ended up taking him.. that was last october or somethin.

he got better and better and soon became a really great dog, i managed to train him up and got through a few aukward patches.

then all of a sudden a few weeks ago he started becoming unpredictable. he would get so over excited he'd start jumping up and biting at my arms.

the first time was nothing, i didnt think much of it, he was playing with a toy and got too excited then jumped at me and caught my jumpe, he calmed right down when i stopped him and i gathered he got a bit too happy...

the second time we were out for a walk and all of a sudden he went daft, ran round, up, down and all over the place then started jumping up biting at me, he managed to give me a huge bruise on my upper arm. but he calmed right down when i told him to, just as suddenly as he'd started.

the third time was when i made the decision about possibly getting him pts. me and my partner were walking up the path when he took another daft turn, only this time he jumped at Liams arm and would have ripped it right off if he hadn't been wearing his thick leather jacket. and he didnt calm down, i had to grab him by his collar to stop him doing it again to me. and in doing so, got my hand bitten quite badly.

so far, it isnt the case of what he HAS done, its what he woud have done or could have done... and each daft turn seems to get worse, i dont want to think about what he could do the fourth time.

now ive been through this story without telling the breed because this isnt the case, he's an unpredictable dog and i cant put myself or other people at this risk..obviously the size and strength in him makes my problem more urgent... i love him so much though, this is why i still have him just now, now, at the moment he's living in his kennel because im dog sitting a boston terrier and he hates other dogs, and for the size difference i couldnt take the risk of an incident between them. but once this little monster goes home my dog will be put onto a strict trained routine so i can moniter him, because obviously i dont want to put him down but like ive said.. he cant go on like he is...

this is the whole story (i think) hopefully i havent left much out..

What a worry and what a horrible situation to be in.  I hope, once your dog sitting is over, you are able to resolve all (or at least some) of the problems.  We'll keep our fingers crossed for you.  smile

What a horrible predicament for you to be in. It is so difficult when a dog becomes aggresive to the point of injury. I hope that in time the problem can be resolved. I wish all the very best for you and the dog so the being PTS becomes a memory and he can overcome any problems. It might be worth getting him checked out by the vets as I have heard of this behavior before and it has been due to medical problems, which could range from toothache too brain tumours so always worth getting it checked out. All the very best. smile Nora

I agree with Nora. If you rule out any medical reasons for him being so unpredictable, then perhaps you can work with him to make him less aggressive on occasion.  Poor lamb - he sounds like a crazy mixed up kid. But I also understand the danger he could become and I really feel for your predicament.

I hope it all works out for you. We have a dog behaviourist you can pm if you'd like some advice. Her name is Viv Silverstein and she's on the forum - she may be able to suggest something for you to try with your boy.
