GAL's 2nd EDINBURGH HOT DOG SHOW!
Permalink Closed

Back due to popular demand - I'm pleased to announce GAL's 2nd EDINBURGH HOT DOG SHOW! flame.gif

**Is your dog THE HOTTEST EDINBURGH GAL DOG 2007??....
**Have you got what it takes to catch the judges eye??.....
**Can you handle the competition??......
**This Event is being held on 14th July at Holyrood Park (beside the palace and main car park)
**The event will run from 10.30 - 2 with classes starting at 11.

There will be 8 classes on the day, entry for each class is only £1 and that will be paid on entry to the ring.

Classes to follow

As you can see it is all pretty exiting and the show is open to ALL dogs! The top 3 dogs in each class as picked by the judge will win a rosette. The winners of each class will also go through to the HOT DOG FINAL with the winner of that walking off with a medal and bragging rights for the next 12 months to be called THE HOTTEST EDINBURGH GAL DOG 2007.

We will have our usual information stall and shop items.  We will also have a couple of interesting fundraisers for you to try your luck at, as well as home baking to sample.

Finally the boring but important information, all dogs must be kept on lead during the show and if your dog needs to wear a muzzle make sure he does

If you able to help out on the day could you please email claire @ gal.org.uk. Thank you.

Remember this is only GAL'S 2ND EVER EDINBURGH HOT DOG SHOW and we are looking for a great turn-out on the day. Hope to see as many of you as possible on the 14th!..

Claire

I'm very very sad to say that we won't make it this year. Sally needs to rest her paw so we think it would be too much for her if we came along (she gets too excited and would be on her feet all day!). Hope the weather improves for the day, last year was a scortcher.

Jax, Barrie, Dan and Sally.

Is the show only for greys and lurchers or can other breeds enter as well. (A friend would come along with her dog if other types of dogs can enter)

The show is for everyone and all dog types.  Last year we had everything from a pug puppy to a wolfhound and loads of things inbetween.

This really is a fun event - one of the best GAL days out that I've been to. The weather was gorgeous last year and it was so enjoyable to see loads of people and have a blether about the dogs and life in general. We met a couple with the most amazing Italian Mastiff - massive and utterly gorgeous! Then the next moment we met a couple with a tiny little Boston Terrier. From one end of the doggy scale to the other.

I'll second that. Last year I came along to find out more about greyhounds and spent a lot of time with the v. handsome Morse and his fosters, now permanent homers.
Thanks to them I ended up with Masonsmile

It was a great day and I saw breeds of dogs I'd never even heard of wandering the event.

Thanks to all the volunteers who turned up to help at the dog show today. You were all stars and I would never have managed without you.

The dogs and I are all exhausted but I think that everyone had a good day. Albeit that we had a brief shower of rain. We should have winners photos soon and I will get a count of how much we raised as well when I have the time to go through it.

See some of you tomorrow at the Queensferry can collection.

Claire

Thanks to all organisers and volunteers. Timmy and I enjoyed ourselves and were sorry we had to leave half way through as I had visitors coming. Hope a good sum of money was raised for Gal.
