Milly - 10y old JRT x - top dog..keeps all the rest well in line in the nicest way! Milly is a rescue who was badly battered and was given to us when she was 10m old..Milly works with lonely elderly people.
Jack is 9.5y old, JRTx and also a rescue, he had been encouraged to fight with other dogs and had been badly kicked around, his spine still carries the scars of the beatings he took. Jack is our only boy and a true gentleman now. Jack visits children that are disabled.
Amber is a 7y old Hungarian Vizsla, she used to be shown but due to severe HD is now just enjoying retirement..she is second in command to Milly! Amber is very pretty but a bit dippy!
Holly is a 4y old PRT and the apple of my eye..a ex show dog (wonky ears) but a fantastic pet, she currently works with autistic children.
Kali is a 3y old Hungarian Wire Haired Vizsla, owned and worked by my 15y old daughter. When she lands on your lap you know all about it!!!
And last, but never least..Becky, 4y old Border Terrier, she is owned by my 10y old daughter and is a complete cuddle monster!
The last space is blank but we are hoping to find a little lurcher to fill it...watch this space!
Welcome to the forum Abbey, your dogs all look lovely We have an office Jack Russell called Oscar, who belongs to a colleague of mine and used to come in with her every day until they both took semi-retirement. Now they come in one day a week. He's 14 and adorable and like to lick my boy Mason's ears inside out - when he can get close enough Hope you find a lurcher to add to your gang soon. Marie
Welcome to the forum and it's great to see all the pictures of your dogs. They're cute and I hope you find the perfect addition to your little pack very soon.
You've a very busy household already but what's one more eh? I keep trying to tell my OH that but it's not working!
Thanks all, my husband says 'we're feeding this lot..what's one more..'! We have the time and the space for all the dogs, so it works well. They get between 2-4 miles exercise every week-day and double or more at week-ends. I only work 10 or 12 hrs per week so there's never an issue of them being left alone for too long. We also have parrots! Luckily the ALL get on! The search for a Lurcher is proving harder than i imagined, we would like a small one, rough coated, something like a Beddy x Whippet or a Russell x Whippet..but nothing is coming up..yet. There is no rush, we're happy to wait for the right dog.
WOW what lovely family you have, Kali is a beauty.
I also have a Hungarian Vizsla (Saska, she will be 3 in October) she is totally mad, the complete opposite from my Grey (Zada 6) and my Lurcher (Rainbow 2). I have had hounds for 20+ years and Saska was a real eye opener.
Welcome to the forum! You've got a lovely family of dogs - they're so cute and they do such worthwhile jobs visiting the elderly and autistic children! I really hope you find the lurcher you're looking for. In fact, our Dixie is probably roughly what you've got in mind. She was a stray found in Glasgow in April last year. You can see her in action in the thread "Singing Dixie" under the heading News and Views on the forum.
Looking forward to hearing more about you and your gorgeous dogs.
