Yet another pic of Hazel

I think that Flash is relieved to get a break from getting his photo taken. Pity that Hazel's id tag looks like something sticking out her mouthbiggrin

Hazel's eyes are incredible! So lovely and unusual - just like David Bowie's.

Thanks all for the kind replies.
We have been to the Trossachs today testing out Hazel's confidence levels off lead in unknown territory and her prey drive re scent.
Used a place that we know well and know the places that Flash takes off after deer scent biggrinmy scruffy angel was put on lead at the tempting bits.
Things went well and we learned a fair bit mainly that Hazel does use these lovely eyes and she tends to use her nose a lot AAAArgh...bit of an air scenter at that cry. Struts about with her tail and her nose up.However the good bit is that she isn't as fast off her mark as Flash is nor does she seem so totally obsessed by the hunt as he is. More easily distracted....so far biggrin.

I can see absolutely nothing wrong with her temperament in fact she comes across as a stable confident even "Sassy" bitch but have done a tiny little bit of ad hoc research on collie lurchers. It seems that some lurcher people do have complaints about temperament but it looks as if most of the issues could be put down to a misunderstanding of collies and their reactions rather than any fundamental flaws in the cross.

wink bit of a long post...forgive me...a new rescue lurcher....I get about obsessed with the early days of assessment and  training as Flash is about hunting. Maybe why he is my wee soul mate palbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin.

Valerie? Lindsay? if you two are reading this. Balloch?....assuming that my car is still in one piece from what I have gleaned so far about Hazel I think that she would be okay for next Friday. Not off lead all the time but with Flash on lead I would like to see her run with Biscuit and Dylan to test her speed. I have tested her out playing with a male gsd and a male collie and she seems to have been very well socialised with reasonably sized dogs. She outclasses Flash re speed I would love to see her run with younger lurchers a bit bigger than Flash.
Love to all

Hazel is a stunner with those eyes. I'm glad she and Flash are settling so well together.
