Trinnie Spayed
Permalink Closed

We've had our Trinnie since pup and due to our circumstances have only just got around to having her spayed.

Happened on Monday and she appears not to be having a nice time of it.  Vet said she may wince but she just sounded as though she was in terrible pain.

Is this normal?

She has pain killers for 4 days and has had todays.

When Sasha was speyed she seem to sail through it. It may be worth checking with your vet to see if there is an infection or that the stiches are maybe too tight. I am not an expert but " if in doubt check it out" thats my motto.smile Nora

I would take her back to the Vet for a POC, we rarely see bitches back post-spay, but once in a while we see one which seems to be in pain. Most bitches within 24-48hrs of the spay are trying to do too much. Sometimes the sutures used in the muscle layer cause irritation, or perhaps the wound is slighlty tight. Is there any redness or swelling? Our Vizsla bitch, despite the wound being normal and all ok was a complete wimp and whined and groaned her way through the 10 days until the stitches came out. Better to check with the vet though. Hope she is ok soon.

I think she has tried to do too much, maybe moving quickly causing the pain. I took her for a short walk last night, which she enjoyed, and she's slept all night.

I'll see how it goes today. Thanks everyone.
