Almost ready!

We are in the throes of getting ready to go away, Gordon and i are away to Paris next week for 5 days for our 18th Anniversary, we get home and the same day, go away in the caravan with the dogs up North. The girls' go away with my parents a few days after we leave and are going on a cruise. I will fairly soon have to go through the trauma of leaving the dogs...as per usual with 10 pages of typed instructions covering every eventuality..then i cry! Six of the dogs are going to my friends' stables where they have their own heated kennel, the Wire Vizsla is going to stay with her handler and her gundogs. The parrots are going to friends' the fish are staying here and a neighbour is feeding them...errr...i think that's everyone! So, today, i am packing cases, helping the kids pack, Sarah is ironing, Jo is helping me pack the caravan..We have had Jake (Beddy x Whippet) 6 weeks today and this will be the first time i have left him...agghrrr...at least he will be with his best pal Holly to keep him company though. They all love the stables and make themselves right at home..i'mm sure i miss them a lot more than they miss me! So, if i dont get the chance to get on here before we leave, have a good October break everyone.biggrin

I'm sure Jake will be fine with his pals to look out for him. Its always traumatic leaving your pets and I'm sure it is much worse for us than them. I'm off to the USA in two weeks and mason is staying with the daycare lady Sarah. Last time I left him there overnight I checked in on him in the evening and was told he hadn't eaten much of his own dinner but had really enjoyed their prawn toast!
So I'm not too worried, pampered pooch.
Hope you have a great holiday and try not to worry, just think they're on their hols as wellsmile
Marie

Enjoy your break. It is hard leaving the dogs but I am sure they will enjoy different surroundings too think of it like a doggie holiday.

I'm sure Jake will have a ball..can you imagine how much longer those legs will be after not seeing him for a week?!!! Jack (JRTx) gets VERY worried and stressed at the sight of suitcases, so we keep them hidden until he is away, any change that he senses makes him upset and he starts to chew a hole in his leg. He's fine once we are away and he is in the familiar surroundings of the stables, thankfully. Right now..the only thing i can think of is my lists and piles of things to go different places..aahghgrr...the stress of holidays!!
