We've just received an e-mail about a missing greyhound down south. I'm posting it here, on the off-chance anyone can help.
Cheers, Graham

Hello, I'm trying to help a friend find her lost greyhound, and very much hope you don't mind my forwarding the following (which I originally posted onto some of the sighthound forums), in the hope that if this girl finds her way into your care you will be able to help. As you can imagine, we are desperately trying every avenue we can think of.
Misty escaped from her garden in Normanton village, between Grantham and Lincoln, off the A607 last Sunday (23rdSept) teatime. She had only been in her new home for 3 weeks, and so still doesn't know the area too well. Worryingly, at around the time Misty escaped, someone was seen just down the road putting a greyhound into their car, which does seem rather a coincidence. Obviously, if she has been taken somewhere by car, she could be anywhere in the country by now, and despite extensive searching in the local area there has been no sign of her, so the worry now is that this may indeed be the case.
Misty is a retired racer, approx 2yrs old, white with slight flecking, and black eye patches. Unfortunately at the time she escaped she was only wearing a house collar, with no tags, but does have an ear tattoo MK D9, and is microchipped to the Grantham area rescue centre she originally came from. She is quite a timid girl, and will now be more so, being lost and frightened or with people she doesn't know
If anyone thinks they may have seen her, if a new greyhound fitting her description has turned up where there wasn't one previously, on the loose, with neighbours, in the park, coursing or whatever, please bear in mind it could be her.
What a nightmare - I really hope it was just coincidence that there was a grey being put in a car. Good luck to them finding her - hope she turns up safe and sound soon.
Rowen got out 1 day and was away all night, got picked up by the police the next morning at the council building in town, he'd went really far from home, i never thought to check that far. I was up most of the night in tears so i know how your friend feels, but at least i gothim back safe and sound. I hope your friend has the same luck, best wishes, please keep us posted, Rowen & Denise x
I am delighted to be able to mail you all to report that Misty was brought safely home this evening!
It was indeed Misty who was seen being put into a car just down the road from her house, only moments after she'd escaped the garden......the guy stopped when he spotted her on the verge, and despite the fact that she was wearing a collar, unscathed, clean and well cared for, rather than knock on a few doors, he took her the thirty-odd miles or so home to his mum.
Probably thanks to her details being heavily circulated, the man eventually decided to do the right thing in the end, and she's now home with her mum & dad, none the worse for her adventure (it's just the rest of us nursing our shredded nerves!)
Many, many thanks to everyone who responded to my emails with helpful advice and words of encouragement, for all the cross-posting and forwarding of her details, and the general 'keeping an eye out'......all very much appreciated.
