Greyhound/ lurcher Fife
Permalink Closed

Hi I work in small area in Fife Dundonald (Cardenden) there is a white with a black patch greyhound (could possibly be a lurcher) wandering the street she has no collar and has been around for several weeks I have contacted the dog warden and tried to get close to her without great success. She disappeared for a couple of weeks but is back she was almost hit by a car today and I am worried about her. I have been leaving food out for her which she will eat as long as its not in a bowl. I have asked around about her and I think she may have been dumped. Any sugestion or if any one is in the area help please. I realise she would have to go to the dog warden but I would happily offer her a foster home and if she got on ok with mine she could have her forever home. Thanks Lorain

Poor girl, how awful. I wish you the very best of luck in capturing her and keeping her safe. Most lost dogs hang around the area they have been dumped or lost at. I am to far away but will get in touch with some friends over there and see if they will keep an eye open for her. All the best. smile Nora

Hi Lorain, any sightings of the wee girl today?,it's so worrying when you can't get near them, our Maggie was basically hunted down by a posse of volunteers as she was living wild in the hills of Helensburgh after escaping from her foster home she had barely been there for five minutes when she took fright and slipped her collar and lead, once caught she came here and never left, she had little or no trust in humans and would eat food that was put out for her but would not let anyone near her.she is much better around strangers now but still mistrusts those she doesn't know well.it sounds like trying to round up this wee girl that you see could be difficult if she's running in and out of traffic,i've been thinking of her all the time since you posted your appeal,i can't bear to think of her cold, alone afraid and hungry and i hope to god that she doesn't get into an RTA.please keep us posted, anyone in the vicinity, please try to help lorain find and catch this wee stray doggie. thinking of you and the wee girl.

Rachel.

Hi she has not been seen for several days but I may have found out some info on her. You may have read in the paper about a Cardenden man whos car broke down and attempted to walked home and died after falling into a quary . The man seemily had several dogs greyhounds, lurchers and terriers and one of the locals think she could have belonged to him. The dogs are living with his family mebers so this could be why she disapears for days on end. Thanks everyone for thinking about her hopefully I will find out more about her and she is safe. Lorain

Hi Lorain.that's really sad,if it did belong to this man I hope his family are in a position to help the dogs long term, I still think that her running around the streets loose and obviously hungry is not a good situation for her to be in.Good luck trying to find out about her maybe she would be better off with you.
