Annabel went for her xrays last night. She seemed to really enjoy the ride in the car and was so well behaved in the vets. She was a real talking point, poor girl, and both vets and the veterinary nurses all gave her a good fuss. The opinion is that she has rickets. She was most probably born in a pitch black hovel with a half starved mother and thus her bone growth was badly affected. The local vet felt that the orthopaedic specialist in Alicante most probably can do something to straighten her legs and lessen the effect on her spine and shoulders. Everybody is amazed at how well she is doing. She can really motor and she is no longer so afraid. I have to take Lulu to the hospital at Alicante on Monday and will take Annabel's xrays with me for them to look at.
So please to hear that something can be done to help her, she is looking so much better and it's nice to hear her confidence is growing. That first photo makes you just want to give her a big hug Hope all goes well with Lulu's visit

ROLL ON MARCH
What a wee sweetheart and what a clever girl being so good with the vet. It's so good to hear that she's coming on in leaps and bounds. I wish her the best of luck with the specialist. Look forward to hearing what they say.
She looks a right wee darling,I'm glad she's doing so well, hope something can be done for her legs she's just amazing,How is her wee boy doing? Was he ok when you took her to the vets?Hope all goes well for LuLu.
What a wee trooper she is. the resilience of dogs like annabel never ceases to amaze me! it looks like you've worked wonders with her confidence. Is her puppy ok?
When I read about this brave girl, doing so much for her wee pup without any help or love, just hardship, I want to cuddle my hounds, just so they know they are loved. You are doing a fantastic thing in Spain, I hope this girl gets the home she deserves.
