A little black greyhound girl called Angel slipped her collar in Corstorphine in Edinburgh after being spooked by kids around 9.30pm. Her owners have only had her five weeks an are worried sick becauseAngel is very nervous. Friend and neighbours were out looking til 3am this morning with no luck. She is wearing a coat but no collar. If anyone in the area hears or sees anything can they please contact Jennifer on 07725 129817 or the Edinburgh Cat & Dog Home on 0131 669 5331. Cheers Marie
A lady came to our house last night thinking it was maybe our hound, but he was safe and sound. It was freezing heere last night so I hope she is okay and found soon.
Very nervous dogs tend to go to ground when they've had a fright and find somewhere to lie low for a while. They will often retrace their steps in the early hours of the morning when the streets are quiet.
One suggestion is for the owners to leave their back door, garage door or cellar door open (if possible) during the night just in case she tries to come home. This worked for a greyhound frightened by fireworks one year.
I would also try leaving food out in the garden, I know there's a chance the local foxes will help themselves but she is going to get hungry and chances are she will go back to where she has been fed in the past.
My heart goes out to her, it would be my worst nightmare come true, hoping there will be good news before the end of the day saying she has been found :0(
Report her missing to Dogs Lost Uk I reported Sammy to them send a picture and they will make a poster which anyone can then print off and you can get people to post them all over the place, let the police and dog wardens know also notify bus companies and taxi drivers, local shops and schools and the railways, network rail called me recently to see if Sammy had been found, having gone through the same thing her family have our sympathies,we are thinking of her and them, all the best, please keep us posted.
Have heard this wee girl has been in an accident and is with the PDSA,can someone confirm, thinking of her and her family who must be so upset.Don't know how she herself is.
Although we live on a main road it is unusual to hear a car horn, so everytime I've heard one today I've dashed outside (and got soaked) just in case!!
Does anyone know what the latest is? The weather here really is terrible, wet and cold.
Yes Rachel, I'm afraid Angel has turned up at a PDSA centre after being struck by a car. she has internal injuries and they are doing all they can but it looks bleak at the moment. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for her. Thanks to all for your support. Marie
I was concerned about this because it happened in my area and there was a very faint chance I would see this dog.
What heartens me about the members on here, is the concern shown by them for others who are not near to them. In distance terms that is. I'm becoming more convinced that we may all be related through groos.
i'm sure Angel will have her very own Angel watching over her at this time, loads of love and kisses to her, i hope she recovers and gets to go home where she belongs, bless her. prayers for her and her family, please keep us posted xx
Sad news. Angel passed away this morning, her injuries were just too much for her. My thoughts are with her family who were only just getting to know her and must be devastated. Marie
Poor wee love. My heart goes out to her family who must be absolutely heartbroken. I'm sure the memories of Angel will be with her family for ever more. Sleep tight Angel.
