I got my hounds and my collie all ready for their afternoon walk, coat, collars and ear muffs (yes doggy ear muffs from America, where else) and got them to the front door, it's snowing heavily here so my hounds took one look, burled around and head right back to the couch where they are refusing to budge.
Tigerlily will walk whatever the weather! She will put off going to the toliet just so I'll extend the walk to make sure she does her business. Indiana, on the other hand, HATES bad weather and will pee at the first corner and do a quick turnabout to get back. It makes for an interesting walk with two hounds with entirely different ideas of what constitutes fun..!
Wills will go out no matter what and he LOVES the snow! Loves playing in it.
Tigger will go out no matter what although she can be a bit reluctant in very bad weather. I've seen her walk all the way round and still refuse to do the loo when it's very bad.
Millie hates bad weather and will do ANYTHING not to go out. When it's very wet, she'll stand by the car hoping to get back in. When we keep walking, she'll dart into the woods, do what she has to and go back to the car. If we don't put her on a lead, she'll hide in the trees by the car until we come back.
Mason's usually not bad unless its really windy but tonight we went out in the freezing rain, got three houses down before meeting a friend heading back with her drenched greyhound Sheba. Mason took one look at Sheba, immediately turned tail and determinedly walked back to the house and inside. Then stood staring at me accusingly until I got his warm towel off the heater to dry his damp head.
Jet is just like that with heavy rain, once my boyfriend took him out after we had put it off due to weather for about 2 hours, it was still really heavy rain and quite stormy but he thought he'd be despetrate by then but as soon as they got to the bottom of the stairs and he opened the door, Jet stuck out half a nose, refused to go any further turned round and ran back up the stairs!
