On Monday Tara got her big bandage off. It took the vet a good ten minutes with both myself and Graham holding her. She was very well behaved but terrified. She just leaned on me and shook. The leg itself is looking very good (for a shaved leg that had an operation a few days ago). The vet was pleased with the fact that it had hardly any swelling and the fact that she was putting a little bit of weight on it already. The operation scar is much smaller than we expected as well.
We got shown several exercises for the leg to keep the muscles used and the joints supple. We are also to massage the lower leg to ease any build up of fluid. The bandage is now staying off as long as she leaves the stitches alone so she is a lot more comfortable.
Will post some more photos with the bandage off when I get home.
