It definitely is the season of goodwill. A lady who fosters dogs for me saw Annabel yesterday and was so touched by her spirit that she has pledged to make up whatever is required for her legs to be operated. The Dutch appeal is two days old and already stands at 560 Euros! Watch this space! The surgeon at Alicante apparently does around 3 surgeries per year for this type of thing. He showed me before and after xrays of cases he has operated in the past. The problem is caused because Annabel's ulna stopped growing too soon. The radius conitinued to grow but, as it is attached by ligaments to the ulna, was unable to grow straight. The radius needs to be cut and a plate put in but Juan Jose says that there is a minimum 70% chance that her life will be greatly improved by this surgery. There will be less stress on her joints and she will be able to walk and run without criss crossing her legs.
What a beautiful contented look she has on her face - she is definately smiling in her sleep - she knows she has found doggy paradise at your sanctuary.
And what wonderful generosity from the lovely lady who fosters for you.
