Can everyone who walks in the Water of Leith area please keep an eye out for Mason's pal, our office Jack Russel Oscar. Oscar fell in the water shortly after 5pm tonight at Roseburn and has not been seen since. We've been out searching but its very dark and Oscar is almost completely deaf. He is 15 and his sight is not great, his owner Joan is distraught, if anyone spots him please give me a call on 0776 5897131, its possible he has managed to scramble out and become disorientated. Cheers Marie
Sadly there has been no news. We think its possible Oscar keeled over or had a dizzy turn which is why he fell in. He never strayed far from Joan and went on the same walk three times a day, he was in the office yesterday and looked particularly doddery, poor old guy. We all knew he was reaching the end but this seems a particularly cruel blow... Oscar
Hi Marie,So sorry that there's been no news of the wee fella,he looks like a right wee smasher from the pic you posted,I remember when you first came to see Mason you told us all about him and Joan and you gave the impression then that he was special to everyone who knew him,Joan must be gutted, and it must be so hard for everybody not knowing where he is I hope you get some news soon, thinking of you all.

Thanks Rachel, its funny I remember within my first week of having Mason I took him to Joan's house and we were nervous about how the boys would get on. Oscar was just happy to see me and Mason was good as gold with him. After a walk on the Water of Leith we were in Joan's house and Mason lay on the floor as Oscar licked his ears constantly. Eventually Joan got anxious about Oscar's constant licking and removed him but Mason didn't give 2 hoots. When he went to daycare Sarah said she would muzzle him when the JR they had was in because groos are bad with them and I said I wasn't too worried because he had been so good with Oscar. He's never muzzled at daycare these day, JR or not. Oscar really was my day to day experience of a dog and without that I probably would never have considered such a thing to replace my cat. Joan has been my biggest supporter with Mason and I'm so sad because ther is little I can do for her. Oscar was a huge part of our lives and the end seems unfair.
Hi Marie,Mason is such a good ambassaor for the breed,I know he has cat issues but so do lots of dogs,I'm so sorry that Joan and everyone else has no closure one way or the other, been in that situation myself with a little JR x yrs. ago the feelings can't be put into words,it's so hard.
I too have just caught up with this thread. Fingers crossed that Oscar is found safe. It's so hard for Joan and all who know the lovely little guy - please tell Joan our thoughts are with her.
ok i know i am late in coming to this thread and feel a littl ebad about it, but where in Roseburn did he go missing? I used to live there and have friends who walk their dogs there every day. So if you can give more details of where he went missing i can hopefully try to help.
