Well, talk about the proverbial bad penny,Sammy is back, yes the same Sammy who had us frantic with worry when he let himself out of his kennel, skidaddled, got himself lost, knocked down by a car and ended up in Cardonald cat and dog home.Of course we said he could come back here when Jacqui asked us but god only knows how we will stay sane worrying about him,he's in the house, not easy as he does not like any other dogs, not even other Greys.!!But there is no way he's going out in a kennel.I or should I say we could not take the strain, anyway he's back,if you could foster him,pm Jacqui, please!!
If anyone can foster Sammy, please, please do step forward. Even before his disappearing trick, it was clear he wasn't coping with being in kennels. Sammy's a boy who likes his home comforts!
Sammy's a very friendly, playful boy, but he does need a firm hand. He'll cope with other sighthounds better than other breeds, but he will need to be kept seperate except under the strictest of supervision. I believe his problem can be sorted with a lot of hard work, and that once that is done, he'll make the right person a fantastic companion!
Surely someone out there can offer Sammy the time and attention he needs?
Oh no! i was so happy to hear that Sammy had been taken into a foster home after his escapades, that's such a shame it never worked out! He really is a fantastic wee guy and would make someone a wonderful pet. fingers crossed that he gets another foster home or better still his forever home soon. Good luck with keeping his passion for escapology in check Rachel
Hi Karen,We are not taking any chances when we are out he is using a house kennel,if we can't be in the same room as him he's in his house kennel. This is an old house and if you open a window or door upstairs one will open downstairs!!Sometimes the sittingroom door opens quite widely by itself, our resident spirit I think lol,we always say come in.!!!problem is our very old little cross breed boy is senile,no joke, and his movements are very erratic he staggers sometimes and has toppled over and the dogs pick on him because they know he is vulnerable and Sammy is no different,so if the door opens Sam old man will toddle out and I would hate for something happen to him. Also we don't want Sammy having any oppertunity to the outdoors without us.Quite stressful all round but hopefully not a long term thing there must be someone who can take Sammy and work with him,he is such a lovely boy who is extremely intelligent, and is very rewarding to be with.So come on folks,if you want to make a difference to a greys life and you have dog experience, make Sammys year and take him home, pretty please.
