Hi

I am just new to this, although I like to read all that is going on, I have never replied. I would just like to ask how your dog is? As I have a greyhound called Lady, I have had her since 2000 and was told she was around 2 years then but Vet thought she was older then so now she is documented as being 12+

For the past few years she has been panting a lot and Vet put her on Millophyline which has helped but around 6 weeks ago she was panting a lot more. I took her to Vet who did not like the look of her tongue,(purplish), and said it was best to have bloods taken and some x-rays. So after a long week of worry and thinking the worst I was glad to hear her organs were alright but she has scarring in her lungs. So far Vet has not come up with treatment. Lady is on her third course of antibiotics as Vet said she showed some infection since then she was started on steroids, which made symptoms worse. I was back at Vet yesterday and was told now that her heartrate was too fast.

So the outcome so far is that I go back tomorrow, this is after having 3 antibiotic tablets only. So I am hoping her heart rate is slower but I just think it is the stress of going to the Vet that has cause this. Nothing so far has been done for her panting. I wondered whether your dog has panting or heart problems

Aww Janet am so sorry I didn't get back to you I hadn't realised you posted. Rufus was put on Vetmedin and is much better, I still let him run around but he does far less now anyway. His tongue isn't purple anymore. The vet did notice a shading in his throat but I didn't want anymore procedures done as like Lady he hates the vets. He still coughs but its a bit better.

How did Lady get on? What has she been put on?

Sorry again, you must be so worried
