sorry not been on the site for ages but life is busy and my M.E. has been a bit troublesome. Quick up date Red is well and as cheeky as ever. He has been diagnosed with Arthritis but then he is 8yrs old. So we are trying to get his medication right. I am sure you will all remember his pal Lenny the collie cross who comes every day and teaches him bad habits such as raiding the bins, chewing pockets of coats to get to treats, drinking anyones tea which is left in nose reach.. Well the wee man has had to have his plates removed from his spine this week and so is now in a full body cast (stookie) and is feeling very depressed. We haven't seen him yet but will be picking him up from the ferry in the morning. He isn't allowed to walk, can't go up or down stairs etc. I am at the moment putting an extra duvet out for him to try and get comfortable on... He can't turn round etc. So Red and I will only be out and about before 8 and after 4.30 when he goes home as we have to keep him company so he doensn't have any accidents....
Poor poor Lenny. I am not at all sure how he will cope with all the rest RED however will love it..... of course.
thanks guys for all the wishes. Lenny came today and was very sad. But he had me to lift him onto the sofa and off again whenever he wanted. Red came over every now and then and sniffed him and licked his nose. aw bless. We then had a long walk after Lenny went home. He was so gentle and undemanding today in sympathy with Lenny
Sorry to hear of Lennys problem,I thought he was a cute wee guy when you brought him to meet Red for the first time, hope he gets well soon, great to know Red is doing so well.
Oh he is a cutie thats for sure. He is also the most fantastic escape artist and theif the cannine world has produced. So for a wee while it maybe a bit less of a challenge here at Milton although Red has managed to follow his example quite often this last week or two. what was that old saying old dogs and new tricks hmmm not true..
