OK I have just negotiated a deal with a mobile phone recycling company to get cash for GAL for old mobile phones, even some broken ones. If they are not worth anything they recycle them free so not bad for the environment either. So if you have any old mobiles lying around gathering dust I am going to be collecting them for GAL so you can hand them in at walks and events or post them to me (PM me for the address). Also if you work for a company that provides company phones and gets people new ones every few years it may be worth checking what they do with them. This is how I decided to do this as my boss was wondering what to do with the 17 phones that were lying around the office and knew I collected printer cartridges for charity and gave me the phones as lots of printer places do phone recycling as well.
