Sore Eye

evileye.gif On Friday Penny developed a sore eye, she struggled to keep it open and there was some matter in it and she was occasionally rubbing it. I phoned the vet to arrange a visit on Saturday and whilst I was on the phone to the Vets, I asked if I could possibly bathe it meantime. The vets suggested cold tea!! So we bathed it a few times on Friday and Penny was very good allowing us to do so. Come Saturday morning there was a vast improvement, so we bathed it a couple of times and it was totally fine. So no trip to the vets required, but of course if it hadn't improved she would have been visiting the vet.

(I blame Max cos he loves kicking dirt in her face as well as over me sometimes!!) biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

I have used tea bags on my eyes when they have been very tired.

Works a treat! So does slices of cucumber but I don't suppose you could have got her to keep them in place.

Not so much a Tea Jenny as a Tea Penny! (sorry!)

Hi Lita

My mother was a great believer in cold tea for relieving tired and sore eyes. She often bathed her eyes in cold tea particularly when she'd been sewing for hours at a time. So it works for humans too! Some old remedies really work.
