Charlie into Week 4

Apologies about the video, my internet is down, in library updating, and the lead I got to connect my camcorder to PC isn't working, or I need a driver which I may need to get off the net. So due to a number of technical hitches, no video.

Hopefully post it in the next 2 weeks with a further update on Charlie.

I was hoping to have a wee video of the boy for you this week, but the camcorder needs updated software for Windows Vista - hopefully get it on soon.

Charlie has still been friendly with all the dogs we meet, Brook is a bit shy around him but only because he stood on her paw while playing and I think his size and energy is too much for my shy wee girl.

Still doing well with the cats, unfortunately today there was a wee incident, both cat and dog are fine, and it was totally my fault. However, Charlie is now sporting a wee cut on his nose. To add to that he has done something to his right leg, he was pawing at the fence yesterday and jumps up on the dog gate regularly, so think he has maybe pulled it as there was nothing embedded in his paw. He does walk on it but tends to hold it up when standing waiting to go out. So we will keep an eye on these over the next couple of days.

His tail seems to be OK and continues to heal, its not bust open again. His toe from when he ripped the claw out still looks a bit raw but has not bled again I'm still cleaning it regularly. He has finished his course of antibiotics and painkillers the vet gave him. I think he just needs to learn to be more aware of things around him, this is his first home and hes not used to tables and chairs etc so I think in his excitement he forgets his surroundings and just focuses on you and the lead/treat.

He is still very excitable - more so when he has been on his own for a while like first walk of the day and when I get in from work - he jumps up and at times can be rather over powering and knock me off my balance, we are working on that, so sometimes it takes 20 minutes before I can get his collar on for morning walk!! He appears to be learning 'leave it' with toys - not food ha ha. He does tend to steal toys from Brook - she just gives them up right away so there is never any arguments over it.

Not a lot I can say that I haven't before, and those of you who have met him know he is just a big friendly lad who will give a family lots of fun and kisses for lots of hugs and attention back!

Hopefully have video up by end of this week.

Can't wait to see the video! He sounds full of fun and enthusiasm - if a little too much at times. I am sure he will settle down in time and hope his leg is nothing more than a little over excitement.

Thanks for the update on Charlie. Glad his tail is on the mend.
Our Max is a boisterous lad and on a couple of occasions he seems to have tweaked a muscle in a leg whilst playing. We've found giving it a rub/massage has helped.

Would be great for folk to meet Charlie and see Brook to at a walk or event, but only if you can manage. smile.gif

Unfortunately I don't have a car so its hard for me to get to the walks and that, Brook is OK on public transport, but buses won't allow more than one dog on - don't think I could handle them both on a bus!! Although sure the other passengers would have a laugh at me trying.

I don't have problems with anyone else wanting to take Charlie out to events - as long as GAL don't mind - but obviously the priority is to ensure the dogs in kennels get out and about.
