Bryn is a real tick magnet, they all get 'spot on', but he is so soft and fluffy the ticks all love him I hate the wee sookers, so if you can help, let me know. I've never had a dog get so manyit's almost enough to put me off my G+T when I have to pick them off
I have to say that since I started using Frontline I've not seen a one. After Mason picked up his first last year at daycare I freaked and started it monthly. They walk him in the countryside daily and let him run around a field so I'm sure he's in contact. I stopped over winter and went racing to the vets in February when I found a flea. I was stunned to see one so early in the year but thankfully he's got so much white its hard for them to hide so even one was pretty obvious and I haven't found any since applying it again. They totaly freak me out so I am very glad, poor Bryn - and you - though! Marie
PS the literature says it kills them within a week, but I have never even found one attached since I started using it
I use frontline on cats and dogs. Cats every month and dogs every 8 weeks, haven't had any so far and the cats have been out and about with this nice weather!! They too have long fluffy coats and probably closer to the ground than Bryn too!
Might want to try a flea collar (I am with success) and if you have a fabric collar, some put lavender or tea tree oil drops to repel. Ticks are massively on the increase due to global warming and the incidence of Lyme's disease is expected to increase, so if a human is bitten, go to GP right away as you may need Abs.
