Hi. I was asked by Jackie to post some photos of 'young' Lenny. He'll be 13 years this July so no spring chicken but still doing ok. He's got a gammy leg due to old tendon injury and a couple of knocked up toes and generally has bad feet, except for one that appears pretty normal. Obviously not the same muscle mass and his girth isn't so slim these days. He still takes his heart medication, pain killer for arthritis and glocosomene for his joints. Anything to make his 'old age' comfortable and enjoyable. Still wants to come all the walks although these last few days he's had to make do with a very short evening walk as he does struggle in the heat. He accepts this but I wouldn't go as far as to say he's overly happy with it. He's not convinced it's for his own good! Took these the other day. 11 year old Rosie wanted a photo too. This prompted me to rifle through old photos and although I'm aware he's greyer (or whiter) it's surprising just how much so. It's just not so overly noticable on fawn dogs. I look back when he was 4 1/2 and he was so red back then. Even his white spots have faded these days. Last two fotos were scanned and couldn't get them to copy on here so just click the link and it should take you to the photo (I think).
Wow, he looks very sparky despite his 'old' age. I have seen many a greyhound whose girth has got much wider with age and think he looks gorgeous Its amazing to see how his colour has changed. Thanks for the pix, they're lovely! Marie
