Steve, I can sympathise. Vegas has been accident prone lately too and had a badly cut pad (open in a half-moon like another mouth) back in January just after healing from a long gash on the front of his foot. But what are the stopper pads? Are they the big pads behind the four smaller ones under the toes?

I know that some guitarists harden their chord playing finger tips by dipping them in surgical spirit. It also soothes the soreness of the growing corns on their fingers. It could be worth a try for Pearly's pads - maybe she'd make a great guitarist!! I also used surgical spirit on my son's tummy button after he was born to harden it until the cut umbilical chord fell off. But I'd be careful if Pearly tended to lick the surgical spirit after it was applied and you'd be better checking with your vet before trying it to see if there's any reason not to use it

I'd also let her off lead mainly on grass if possible. I know how enthusiastic Vegas is when he's off the lead and his personal safety goes out the window when he's chasing a squirrel or rabbit!
