Hi Fiona, from the pictures and what I remember of him when i saw him at the dog walk in March I'd say he looks pretty good, could maybe afford to put on a TINY bit extra but no more than 1kg I'd say....reckon it's Pearly's huge brain that makes her so heavy...

Murphys only 27kg but its all to do with bone structure - his siblings all seem to be very petite too so I wouldnt worry - I think Harry looks just perfick!!

Blue's a big chap, and he's about 33.5 Kg, not much more than Harry. That said, he was only 28.5 when we picked him up. My how he's blossomed!

Hi Fiona,

I think Harry looks fab as he is, and no doubt when he settles in to being spoiled by you he will probably gain a couple of Kgs.

Kaz was about the same height as Pearly and weighed 29kgs, but Kaz looked painfully thin in comparison to Pearly!

Maybe it's just the photo but Harry looks all legs with a fairly slender frame - his shoulders don't look very broad so maybe he wouldn't weigh as much as some of the other BIG dogs.

Blue has very broad shoulders (I can place 4 fingers between his shoulder blades) and a large chest but his legs don't look as long as Harry's - maybe this makes a difference?

Both of them look perfect weight to me. Certainly Harry doesn't look grossly thin - perhaps he'll gain a kg or two when he's settled in. He's a young dog and they often look as if they're all legs!

Thanks for the reassurance, everyone. I suppose we're just used to looking at Pearly, who is pretty solid with muscle. Harry certainly is all leg - he's a very lanky boy! When he lies down in the hall he takes up pretty much all the space! Luckily he's a good lad in that he moves immediately when asked. No doubt we'll get used to how much food he really needs soon enough. We don't want to overfeed and turn him in a chubster!
